HPPSC’s 2024 recruitment covered 37 vacancies across two different jobs: 22 Homoeopathic Medical Officer (HMO) posts and 15 Medical Officer (Dental) posts. Applications closed on 27 March 2024 at 11:59 p.m., so candidates cannot apply through this notice now. The two posts had separate departments, advertisement numbers, pay levels and professional qualifications.
What the 37 HPPSC vacancies covered
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission advertised the two recruitment tracks on 29 February 2024. The combined total of 37 is not a single Medical Officer recruitment: it consists of HMO and Dental MO vacancies under separate advertisements.
| Post | Department | Vacancies | Advertisement | Listed pay level and band |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Homoeopathic Medical Officer (HMO) | Ayush Vibhag, Himachal Pradesh | 22 | 4/2-2024 | Level 16; Rs. 48,700–154,300 |
| Medical Officer (Dental) | Health and Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh | 15 | 5/2-2024 | Level 18; Rs. 56,100–177,500 |
These are the pay bands listed in HPPSC’s combined notice, not a calculation of take-home salary. The notice directed candidates to apply through the commission’s Online Recruitment Application (ORA) system and said applications sent by any other mode would be rejected. The official HPPSC notice and advertisement archive identify the recruitment and its separate notices.
Application deadline and current status
The last date to submit an application for both posts was 27 March 2024 at 11:59 p.m. That application window has closed. The old ORA route is not a way to apply for these vacancies now; check current HPPSC announcements for any open recruitment.

HMO: recommendations issued in February 2025
HPPSC held the offline screening test and descriptive subject aptitude test for HMO on 22 August 2024. It declared the result on 20 January 2025, reporting that 37 candidates qualified for the personality test, which took place from 4 to 6 February 2025.
In its recommendation notice dated 6 February 2025, HPPSC recorded recommendations for all eight UR posts, all three SC posts, the single ST post, one of three OBC posts and both EWS posts. The UR orthopaedic physically handicapped post and all four UR ex-servicemen posts were recorded as vacant, as were two OBC posts. Those figures describe vacancies in the recommendation notice; they do not establish any later departmental appointment action.

Dental MO: personality tests scheduled; final outcome not established here
HPPSC instructions set Dental MO personality tests for 12–14 November 2024. A notice dated 15 October 2024 listed candidates finally rejected after document scrutiny and included examples of missing documents such as degree proof, dental registration, matriculation proof of age and prescribed category certificates. Those records show document scrutiny was underway, but they do not establish the final recommendation or appointment outcome for all 15 vacancies.
