Applications for HPPSC Advertisement No. 32/12-2024 are closed. The deadline for the 65 Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) posts was January 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. The recruitment has since moved on to its screening-test stage: HPPSC said Paper I was held on August 24, 2025. The information below describes that past recruitment cycle; it is not an open application opportunity.

What was the HPPSC ADO recruitment?

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) issued Advertisement No. 32/12-2024 on December 31, 2024, for 65 Agriculture Development Officer posts in the Himachal Pradesh Department of Agriculture. The posts were described as Class-I (Gazetted). The advertisement’s application and fee deadline was January 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., according to the notice text and contemporaneous coverage by Scroll.

Because the deadline has passed and the screening test has already taken place, candidates cannot use the old application instructions to join this cycle. Anyone interested in a future ADO vacancy should consult the current HPPSC advertisement for its own dates and rules.

Who was eligible under the 2024 notice?

Education

The essential qualifications stated in the reproduced advertisement were a four-year B.Sc. (Agriculture) programme and a second-class M.Sc. (Agriculture), obtained from a college or university recognized by the State or Central Government or ICAR.

Age

Scroll reported a maximum age of 45 years, using January 1, 2024, as the reference date. Candidates checking eligibility should rely on the advertisement’s full age clauses, including any applicable category-specific relaxation; the reported summary alone does not establish those details.

How the application worked

The expired application route was HPPSC’s online OTR/ORA process. The reported steps were to open HPPSC’s website, choose Apply Online, access the One Time Registration (OTR) portal, complete the online application, pay the applicable fee, submit the form, and keep a printout. The reproduced advertisement also directed applicants to upload relevant supporting documents, including qualification, age, and category documents.

These are historical process details, not instructions for submitting an application now. For any later recruitment, use the portal and document requirements specified in that advertisement rather than assuming the same route or requirements apply.

What application fee was reported?

Scroll’s January 2025 report gave the following fee amounts. The original advertisement controls which category applied, so candidates should not infer eligibility for a fee category from this summary.

Reported fee Categories described in Scroll’s report
₹600 Unreserved, PwD, EWS, Wards of Freedom Fighter, specified Himachal Pradesh ex-servicemen, and candidates from other states.
₹150 Male SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates.
Exempt Female candidates, as reported by Scroll.

The category descriptions above are Scroll’s summary of the 2024 notice; consult the complete advertisement for the exact fee provisions and applicability.

What were the selection stages, and what happened afterward?

Contemporaneous coverage summarized selection as a Screening Test, a Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test, and a Personality Test. HPPSC later confirmed that Paper I of the screening test took place on August 24, 2025.

In a notice dated August 25, 2025, HPPSC opened a five-day window for objections to the provisional Paper I answer key, from August 26 through August 30, 2025, excluding the day the key was published. The notice required objections and supporting documents or references to be submitted online and specified a fee of ₹100 per objected question. That was a post-exam answer-key process, not part of applying for the posts.

What to check for a future HPPSC ADO vacancy

Do not reuse the 2024 dates, age reference date, fee summary, or selection details for a new cycle. Read the applicable HPPSC advertisement and verify its advertisement number and department, deadline, educational qualifications, age reference date and relaxation rules, category-wise vacancies and fees, document requirements, and selection stages.
