Who owns Charlton Athletic?
Charlton’s official staff page identifies Global Football Partners as the ownership group and says it completed the purchase of Charlton Athletic and Charlton Athletic Women’s Football Club through SE7 Partners on 21 July 2023. The club names five co-owner or shareholder groupings with holdings of at least 5%: Gabriel Brener and family, Joshua Friedman and family, Warren Rosenfeld and family, Munir Javeri, and Marc Boyan. It also notes that a small number of other shareholders hold less than 5% each. Charlton Athletic’s staff page was last updated on 12 August 2026.
Companies House records SE7 Partners Limited as the active person with significant control of Charlton Athletic Football Company Limited. Its filing says SE7 Partners holds 75% or more of the shares and voting rights and has the right to appoint or remove directors. Is there a reliable net-worth figure for Charlton’s owners?
No credible current estimate of GFP’s combined personal net worth is established by these public sources. The club identifies the ownership group and its significant shareholders, while Companies House records corporate control and company filings. What does the reported £15 million figure mean?
The Guardian reported on 3 August 2026 that the owners led by Gabriel Brener paid £15 million for Charlton in 2023. That is a reported purchase price for the club—not the personal net worth of Brener, the other investors, or GFP collectively. The same report said the group had put the club up for sale in 2026, a status that may change. The Guardian’s report is reporting on the transaction and sale process, not an audited disclosure of personal wealth.

How did Charlton’s ownership change?
- 2020: Thomas Sandgaard acquired 100% of Charlton Athletic from East Street Investments. The club described him at the time as an entrepreneur and inventor, founder of Zynex Inc., and founder and CEO of Sandgaard Capital.
