Sheffield United’s current owners are identified in official records, but those records do not establish the personal net worth of Steven Rosen or Helmy Eltoukhy. That means there is no reliable, like-for-like basis in the available sources to rank them against the EFL’s richest club owners.
Who owns Sheffield United?
The club’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 say COH Sports Bidco Limited acquired all the share capital of Blades Leisure Limited on 23 December 2024. Blades Leisure is the club group’s parent. The accounts identify COH Sports United LLC, a Delaware company, as the group’s ultimate parent, jointly controlled by trusts of Stephen H. Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy. Sheffield United’s 2024–25 accounts provide the ownership-chain detail.
Before the change, the group was wholly owned by United World Holding Limited; the accounts identify Prince Abdullah Bin Mossad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the ultimate beneficiary for that period. Companies House records the 2024–25 accounts as filed on 29 March 2026 and lists director appointments for Steven Harlan Rosen and Helmy Atef Eltoukhy effective 23 December 2024. Companies House filing history corroborates the filing and appointments.
The EFL’s public register also lists Rosen and Eltoukhy in connection with Sheffield United. The EFL owners and directors register confirms the club connection, not either person’s wealth. BBC Sport’s takeover coverage provides context on the December 2024 deal.

Why there is no dependable richest-owner ranking
Neither the club accounts nor the EFL register gives a personal net-worth figure for Rosen or Eltoukhy. The accounts explain corporate ownership; they do not disclose the owners’ total personal assets and liabilities. A club’s sale price, investment commitments, revenue, transfer spending or payroll cannot substitute for that information.
The EFL’s owners and directors test is likewise not a wealth league table. The league describes declarations, background checks, and financial information and evidence of sufficient funding from prospective owners. Those checks relate to eligibility and the ability to fund an acquisition and operating plan; they do not amount to a published calculation of an owner’s entire net worth. General lists of English club owners offer selected estimates but omit figures for many owners and do not establish a consistent valuation date, methodology or currency basis across the EFL. One such owner list is not enough to support a comprehensive ranking. No common, independently verified EFL-wide dataset in the available sources makes a numerical comparison fair.
Why club spending does not reveal an owner’s wealth
Football resources and personal wealth are different measures. For example, a payroll page may model or report estimated club salaries, but it does not show an owner’s liquid assets, debts, total net worth or how much cash is available to the club. Capology’s 2026–27 Championship payroll page is a salary estimate, not a measure of Rosen’s or Eltoukhy’s wealth.

Even a credible estimate for one owner would not be enough to compare them with the EFL’s richest unless the other figures used the same valuation date, currency basis and definition. Individual net worth, household wealth and consortium wealth are not interchangeable; neither are estimated total assets and money committed to a football club.

A meaningful owner-by-owner comparison would need figures that are dated and defined consistently. At minimum, each estimate should identify:

- the currency and, where necessary, the date used for conversion;
- whether the figure refers to an individual, household or ownership consortium;
- the publisher and basis for the estimate; and
- the distinction between personal wealth, corporate assets, committed investment and funds available to the club.
Without those details, assigning Sheffield United’s owners a position in an EFL “richest” ranking would imply more certainty than the public records support.
