A November 2023 CIO BrandPost sponsored by SAP describes how the home-appliance company set about building it: SAP led the technology work, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was a partner, and deployments were phased from two complex markets toward a global rollout. The report presents substantial changes and business benefits, but its figures and outcome claims are sponsor-backed rather than independently verified.
Why Versuni needed a standalone technology landscape
Versuni, formerly Philips Domestic Appliances, became a standalone company in September 2021 after separating from Royal Philips. The CIO case study says the business inherited a patchwork of systems and processes that had developed in silos. Finance used separate applications, planning relied on varied data sources, stock monitoring was cumbersome, supplier collaboration was limited, and employee learning tools were outdated.
The company also needed to understand consumer preferences across markets in 100 countries. The case frames the transformation as more than replacing software: Versuni sought an operating model that could support the newly independent company and shift its attention from products toward consumers and their needs.
Who led the project and what technology did it use?
The 2023 account names SAP as technology lead and TCS as a project partner. It says Versuni had worked with SAP for more than 30 years before this initiative. Much of the described platform drew on SAP Business Technology Platform resources, including analytics, AI and application development tools, and was delivered through a cloud-based SaaS subscription model. These details describe the program as reported in 2023; they do not establish current product packaging or availability.

The roles matter when interpreting the account: it is a CIO BrandPost sponsored by SAP, not an independent assessment of the technology or its results.
How the rollout was phased
The case describes a staged deployment rather than a single global cutover. The first deployments were in two complex markets. Core processes were then delivered in key markets within 12 months, followed by a global rollout over the next six months. The article also places the work within a broader two-year transformation spanning areas from production and accounting to home delivery. Its summary refers to progress “within 18 months,” but that should not be read as evidence that every deployment or aspect of the broader change was complete by then.

The case study links the new landscape to several operational changes. It says bringing finance functions into a single application helped Versuni predict and control expenses. It also reports improved visibility of supplier inventory and better coordination among procurement, production and sales. For maintenance, the report says teams gained a better understanding of machine downtime.

On the customer side, the account characterizes the change as a move from product-centric to consumer-centric operations, with a more complete customer view and faster responses to questions and needs. Versuni CIO Corine Adams described the organization as “truly centered around lifetime engagement with our customers.” The same account reports a 50 percent increase in employee engagement, but the surfaced article text does not explain how engagement was measured.
Those benefits should be understood as claims made in the sponsored case study: the available account does not provide independent validation or enough measurement detail to establish the size or cause of each effect.

Versuni’s story is useful as an example of the work involved in separating a business from a parent company: creating a standalone operating platform, sequencing deployments across markets, and changing connected processes as well as applications. It also shows why transformation scale is not captured by a software count alone; the report includes data objects, reports and redesigned processes alongside cloud applications.
