To update your information on desktop, sign in to Paylocity, open Employee Self-Service → View Employee Record → Personal, then choose Contact or Edit Contact. Change the available fields and select Save or Submit. In the mobile app, open your name/company profile, tap the pencil or Edit control, make your changes, and tap Save. The fields you can edit depend on your employer’s settings; contact HR or your company’s Paylocity administrator if an option is missing or locked.
Update your information on desktop
- Sign in to Paylocity and open Employee Self-Service.
- On the Welcome Card, select View Employee Record.
- Open the Personal tab, then select Contact or Edit Contact. The wording may differ in your employer’s setup.
- Update the address, phone, email, or other available field. For an address, review the street, city, state, ZIP or postal code, and country if those fields appear.
- Select Save or Submit before leaving the page.
- Reopen the record and check that the new information appears.

Update information in the mobile app
- Open the Paylocity Mobile App and sign in.
- Open the menu or tap your name/company area.
- Tap the pencil or Edit control.
- Change the available personal-information fields, then tap Save in the top-right corner.
- Return to your profile to confirm the change is shown.
Paylocity documents this profile-edit route, and its official app listing says employees can edit personal information in the app. Icon placement and available fields can vary by app version and employer configuration: Paylocity Employee Support and the Paylocity app listing.
Which personal information can you edit?
Employees commonly have access to personal contact fields such as a home or mailing address, personal phone number, and personal email. Emergency contacts may also be part of the employee record. Paylocity’s employee self-service materials describe employee updates, while its developer documentation lists these categories in employee records; that API reference describes administrator or integration data, not a procedure for employees: Employee Self-Service and Paylocity’s Update Employee API reference.

The exact fields exposed to you are controlled by your employer. Legal name, government identifiers, tax-related details, company email or login information, employment status, work location, department, and some phone or address fields may be restricted or handled through a separate process. Do not assume that every item on the Personal tab is employee-editable.
Phone numbers and email addresses
If the form offers multiple phone fields, such as mobile, home, or work, update the one your employer uses for HR or payroll communication and account verification. A personal email field may be editable even when a company-issued email address is controlled by your employer. If the right field is not available, ask HR rather than trying to change login details through an unrelated screen.

Emergency contacts
Look in your employee profile for an emergency-contact section; in some employer configurations it may appear near the bottom of the mobile profile. Its location is not a universal current menu path. If you cannot find or edit the section, ask HR or the Paylocity administrator.
If you cannot edit a field or save a change
A missing or read-only control can mean your employer has not enabled employee editing for that field, the information is managed by HR or payroll, or you are in a different Paylocity experience than the one your company uses. Try these steps:

- Confirm you are signed in to the correct company account and employee profile.
- If you are using the app, try the desktop Employee Self-Service portal; if you are on desktop, check whether your employer’s Home experience links to a profile or employee record.
- Check Paylocity’s in-product Help → Knowledge Base for guidance specific to your setup. Paylocity identifies this knowledge base as PEAK: Paylocity Client Support.
- If the field is absent, locked, or the change still will not submit, contact HR, payroll, your supervisor, or your company’s Paylocity administrator. Include the field name and any error message; a screenshot can help if your employer requests one.
If a form rejects an entry, practical checks include completing required fields, reviewing state/country and postal-code formatting, and trying again from the desktop portal. These are general troubleshooting suggestions, not Paylocity-documented requirements.
Will the change update payroll, taxes, benefits, and insurance?
Do not assume that changing your Paylocity profile updates every employer-connected system automatically or immediately. Your employer’s configuration and integrations determine whether a change flows elsewhere, needs approval, or must be entered separately. Ask HR whether you also need to update benefits, insurance, tax, payroll, or another record—especially if the change affects official documents or coverage. If a W-2 is already incorrect, Paylocity directs employees to their HR team rather than treating a profile edit as a correction: Paylocity Employee Support.

When your Paylocity menus look different
Paylocity’s employee-support instructions give the Employee Self-Service route, but some employers use Paylocity Home, customize access, or enable different modules. If you see Employee Self-Service, follow the desktop steps above. If you see Home instead, look for your profile, employee record, or personal-information card. Do not use administrator or API instructions as though they were employee menu steps. For a route tailored to your company’s setup, use the in-product Knowledge Base or ask your employer’s administrator.
If you cannot log in after changing your phone
This is a sign-in recovery issue, not a profile-editing step. Paylocity’s employee support page lists Forgot Password on desktop and Forgot Your Password or Company ID in the mobile app. If you cannot receive a verification code or the stored contact information prevents recovery, contact your employer for help: Paylocity Employee Support.

Former employees
If you no longer work for the company, contact your former employer’s HR department about personal records or documents. Paylocity says employee information is handled through the company’s Paylocity administrator, including for former employees: Paylocity Employee Support.
