Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFirst identify what you want to disconnect: a bank account used to transfer or pay money, or a third-party app authorized to access Chase data. They have different removal paths. For a transfer account, open Chase Mobile, swipe left on a checking account, then tap Transfer → Manage external accounts. For an app such as a budgeting or tax service, use Security & Privacy Center → Linked apps.
Which kind of connection are you removing?
| What you see | What it is | Where to manage it |
|---|---|---|
| A non-Chase checking or savings account under Transfer or Pay from | A bank account connected for transfers or payments | Transfer → Manage external accounts |
| A budgeting, payment, accounting, tax, or financial app | A third-party service with permission to access Chase data | Security & Privacy Center → Linked apps |
| An outside account under Plan & track | An account-aggregation connection for financial management, rather than necessarily an ACH transfer account | Check the relevant external-account or linked-app controls; contact Chase if no removal option appears |
| An account registered for a mortgage, home-equity, auto, or other loan payment | A product-specific payment setup | Review that loan’s payment-management area; it may be separate from the general transfer list |
Chase describes external accounts for transfers and payments separately from account aggregation in Plan & track. Chase’s mobile external-account instructions, desktop transfer instructions, and Plan & track information cover those distinct features.
Remove a bank account used for transfers or payments
- Sign in to the Chase Mobile app.
- From the account dashboard, swipe left on a checking account.
- Tap Transfer, then Manage external accounts.
- Select the external bank account you intend to remove.
- If Chase displays a removal control—such as Remove, Delete, or Unlink—check that the selected account is correct, then follow the on-screen confirmation.
Chase documents the route to Manage external accounts, but its public instructions do not establish one universal removal-button label or confirm that every account type can be deleted from that screen. If you do not see a clear option for the correct account, do not remove a different account or transaction by mistake. See Chase’s mobile instructions.
Try Chase.com if the app does not show the control
On Chase.com, look under Pay & Transfer → Transfer Money, then find the external-account management option in the transfer flow. Labels and placement can vary by account type and platform. Chase documents the desktop route here.

Remove a third-party app’s access to Chase
- Sign in to Chase Mobile or Chase.com.
- Open the Security & Privacy Center.
- Choose Linked apps or Linked apps & websites.
- Select the app or company you want to disconnect.
- Choose the displayed option to stop sharing data or remove access, then confirm.
Chase says customers can review and remove access for specific linked apps or websites in this area. Revoking access stops the app’s authorization to access the Chase connection going forward, but it does not necessarily erase data the company previously received. If you want previously collected information deleted, use the provider’s own privacy controls or contact the provider. Read Chase’s linked-app and data-sharing information.
Chase also says some linked apps may receive a substitute account number. Removing the connection prevents that number from being used for new transactions through the linked app; it should not be treated as a reversal of transactions already initiated. Review pending activity separately.

Check loan and investment payment setups separately
Mortgage or home-equity payments
For a mortgage or home-equity account, Chase gives the mobile route top-left menu → Transfer Money → Manage External Accounts. Chase notes that an external account may need to be registered separately for these payments even if you already use it with another Chase product. Removing an account from the general transfer list may therefore not remove every mortgage or home-equity payment registration. See Chase’s mortgage payment instructions.
Auto-loan payments
Check the auto-loan account’s own payment settings and payment flow; do not assume its payment registration is the same as the general transfer list. Chase’s auto-loan payment options describe that product’s payment methods.

Investment transfers
Investment transfers have a separate workflow. Chase’s instructions refer to Investments by J.P. Morgan → Transfer → External account transfer; use the investment area rather than assuming the standard checking-account controls apply. See Chase’s investment transfer instructions.

- One-time transfers that are scheduled or processing
- Recurring transfers
- Pending bill payments
- Mortgage, auto-loan, or other loan payments
- Autopay arrangements and recently initiated ACH transactions
Chase says transfers to or from non-Chase accounts typically take 2–3 business days. That is Chase’s stated typical processing time, not a guarantee that every transfer completes on that schedule. Its public materials describe scheduled and recurring transfers but do not say that deleting a linked account automatically cancels them. Check Chase’s transfer information and activity.
If you cannot remove the account
- Confirm you selected the outside bank account, not a Chase account or a pending transaction.
- Check whether the account is tied to a pending or recurring payment and review that payment separately.
- Try Chase.com under Pay & Transfer → Transfer Money.
- If the connection is for a mortgage, home-equity account, auto loan, or investment product, use that product’s own payment or transfer area.
- If the account remains listed or you cannot identify the correct removal option, contact Chase through the secure app or call the number on the back of your Chase card.
Deleting the Chase app, closing the outside bank account, or changing its password is not a reliable substitute for revoking the connection through Chase or the relevant service.
Secure your accounts if you suspect unauthorized access
- Review Linked apps and confirm the intended third-party connection is no longer active.
- Check recent Chase activity and scheduled payments for anything you do not recognize.
- If you gave your Chase credentials directly to an untrusted service or suspect they were exposed, change your Chase password and contact Chase promptly.
- For suspected unauthorized transactions, contact Chase through a trusted channel rather than waiting to see whether unlinking resolves the issue.
- Open the Chase app yourself or type Chase.com into your browser; do not use links in suspicious texts or emails.
Chase’s security guidance includes steps for protecting your account. Chase describes its data-sharing flow as using a secure Chase window and allows customers to remove linked-app access, but that does not replace responding to suspected fraud.
