To move available PayPal funds to a bank, use Wallet → Transfer Money → Transfer to your bank on PayPal’s website, or open your PayPal balance in the app and tap Transfer → Transfer to bank. Choose a linked, eligible bank and the transfer option PayPal offers. Standard transfers are typically free and take 1–3 business days; an eligible instant transfer is faster but costs a fee. These instructions and fee details are for US accounts; availability and terms can differ elsewhere.
Transfer PayPal money to a bank
- Open the transfer screen. On the website, go to Wallet → Transfer Money → Transfer to your bank. In the app, tap your PayPal balance, then Transfer → Transfer to bank. Labels may vary slightly; use the options displayed in your account. PayPal’s withdrawal instructions.
- Select the destination bank. It must already be linked and eligible for the transfer method you want to use. Check the account details carefully before proceeding.
- Choose the transfer option. PayPal will show the options available for your account and destination. Review the estimated arrival time and any fee shown.
- Confirm the details and submit. In the app, follow the prompts and tap Transfer Now. Keep the confirmation and check Activity for status updates.
PayPal says withdrawals may be reviewed and can be delayed or stopped if it identifies an issue. A transfer option may not appear if the bank or account is not eligible.

The instant fee and transaction limit are PayPal-published US figures, accessed in 2026; they are not a guarantee of the amount or option available to every account. The $25,000 limit is an “up to” maximum, and actual limits may be lower. Currency conversion can add a fee. Check the amount and fee shown in your account immediately before confirming. How long the transfer takes and what its status means
PayPal estimates standard bank transfers at 1–3 business days. Weekends and holidays are not business days and may extend the wait. Instant transfers are usually processed within minutes, but a bank may take additional time to post the funds. If an instant transfer has not arrived after 30 minutes, PayPal advises contacting the bank. PayPal’s guidance on a missing withdrawal.

A PayPal status of Complete means PayPal processed and sent the transfer; it does not necessarily mean the bank has posted the money. Check the transaction in PayPal Activity, your bank account, and any email updates from PayPal.

If a withdrawal is delayed or fails
- Check for an account limitation or review. PayPal may hold, delay, or stop a withdrawal while it reviews an issue.
- Verify the bank details. Details that do not match the information held by the bank can cause a withdrawal to fail. Confirm the destination account information with your bank if needed.
- Check eligibility for instant transfer. If instant transfer is unavailable for the selected bank, use another eligible bank if you have one, or choose another option shown in PayPal.
- Allow time for a return. PayPal says that when a withdrawal fails because information is incorrect or incomplete, the money should return to your PayPal balance within one week. A return fee may apply. Check the account’s transaction details and PayPal’s withdrawal-failure guidance.
