You usually can’t send cryptocurrency directly to a regular bank account. To turn crypto into fiat, use a service available in your country that supports your asset and network: transfer the crypto there, sell it for local currency, then withdraw the cash to a supported bank or payment method. If by “fiat wallet” you mean an in-app cash balance, the sale may put money there without sending it to your bank; that withdrawal is a separate step.
Before you transfer: choose a supported cash-out route
Start with a centralized exchange or a wallet-integrated off-ramp that offers both a sale of your crypto and a fiat payout where you live. Availability varies by country, asset, currency, and payment method. For example, Coinbase describes sell and cash-out options across more than 130 countries overall, with third-party-provider cash-outs in 80+ countries; its page is undated, and coverage may change, so check the current options in your account. Uniswap says available providers and currencies depend on region. These examples are not a guarantee that either service supports your location.
Compare the route on the details that determine whether it will work and how much you will receive:
- Whether the service accepts your exact token on the network you intend to use.
- Whether a deposit memo or tag is required.
- The total cost: blockchain network fee, quoted sale rate and fee, and fiat withdrawal charge.
- Supported cash currencies and payout methods, their limits, and estimated settlement times.
- Any identity verification or bank-linking steps, plus available account-security controls.
Check the service’s live transaction screen for the current terms. Coinbase says its displayed Base app cash-out fees are estimates and can change; the product flow is the more accurate source. Its published table gives estimates of 2–3% for the Coinbase.com option and 2–5% for third-party on-ramp providers, not universal rates or guaranteed quotes.

How to transfer crypto and cash it out
- Set up the receiving service. Confirm that it operates in your country and supports your intended asset, cash currency, and payout method. Complete any required identity checks and bank or payment-account linking before you send funds.
- Open the deposit instructions for the exact asset. In the receiving account, choose the asset and start a crypto deposit. Copy the address and note the network shown there. Check whether the service requires a memo or tag; Binance notes that assets such as XRP or EOS may require one.
- Match the sending details to the receiving instructions. In your wallet, select the same asset and a network supported at both ends. Verify the address, network, and memo or tag character by character, then review the amount and network fee. Do not choose a network just because its quoted fee is lower. Binance warns that a network mismatch or missing memo can make funds inaccessible; Coinbase warns that transfers to a wrong address or unsupported network may be permanently lost and unrecoverable.
- Send the crypto and wait for the deposit credit. Keep the transaction ID and monitor the receiving account until the deposit is credited. The transfer is an on-chain transaction and can incur a network fee. Your wallet may also need the network’s native token to pay that fee—for example, Phantom says a send may require SOL or ETH, depending on the network. A small test transfer can reduce the amount at risk when appropriate, but it costs fees and does not guarantee that a later transfer will succeed.
- Sell the crypto for fiat. In the receiving service, select the eligible crypto, choose the cash currency, enter the amount, and review the quoted rate, fees, and net fiat amount before confirming. Not every token can be sold directly in every flow. Uniswap’s documented fiat-sale route, for example, offers stablecoins and network tokens; another token may need to be converted first.
- Withdraw the fiat if you want it in your bank. Choose the fiat withdrawal option, select a linked and verified payout method, and check the fee, limits, estimated arrival time, and amount to be received. A sale to an in-app cash balance does not necessarily complete this bank withdrawal for you.
What affects fees and timing?
There may be three separate costs: the blockchain fee to move crypto, the exchange or provider’s conversion cost, and the charge for withdrawing fiat. Check each one and the final net amount before confirming; the conversion rate can also affect the proceeds. Processing time has separate stages: the crypto deposit must be confirmed and credited, the sale must complete, and the bank or payment transfer must settle.
Published figures apply only to the named service and route. Crypto.com Exchange’s US retail instructions estimate 1 to 3 business days for USD ACH withdrawals; that is a provider-specific estimate, not a general guarantee. Crypto.com also states that, from May 1, 2026, a 0.05% USD charge applies only when rolling 30-day net withdrawals exceed $1,000,000 under its stated Exchange policy. Neither figure should be assumed to apply to another service, location, currency, or payout method.

Protect your crypto and account
- Use only the official provider app or website, reached through a verified address or app-store listing. Never share your seed phrase or private key with anyone claiming to help cash out.
- Re-check the receiving service’s deposit instructions each time; addresses, supported networks, and memo requirements can differ by asset and may change.
- Use available protections such as two-factor authentication or passkeys. If withdrawing crypto to an external address, verify that address carefully; Crypto.com documents address-whitelisting and verification controls for external withdrawals.
- Keep your transaction ID and records of the sale and fiat withdrawal. A blockchain confirmation does not itself mean a bank payment has arrived.
