FRED’s documented notification is an update alert—not a user-set alert for a move of a specific number of basis points.
Check the official daily Treasury yield curve
Open the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Daily Treasury Rates page and select Daily Treasury Par Yield Curve Rates. The page presents a table of published maturities and provides CSV and XML downloads. Its curve includes short-term points and 1-, 2-, 3-, 5-, 7-, 10-, 20- and 30-year maturities.
These constant-maturity Treasury (CMT) rates are points read from an interpolated par yield curve. A published 10-year rate therefore does not necessarily represent a particular Treasury bond with exactly 10 years remaining. Treasury describes the curve as based on closing market bid prices for recently auctioned Treasury securities in the over-the-counter market. Its inputs are indicative bid-side quotations, not completed trades, obtained by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York at or near 3:30 p.m. each trading day. The published rate is not an intraday live quote.
Set up an email notification in FRED
FRED’s notification feature emails you when new data are added to a selected series. You need a free FRED account to configure it.

- Find the Treasury-yield series you want on FRED and open its graph.
- Sign in to your FRED account. Select Account Tools, then Get email notification.
- To review or remove notifications later, go to My Account → Notifications.
For the 10-year constant-maturity rate, one example is DGS10. FRED identifies it as a daily series, measured in percent and not seasonally adjusted, sourced from the Board of Governors’ H.15 Selected Interest Rates release. It tracks the 10-year maturity only; choose the corresponding series if you want to follow another point on the curve.
Know what the alert does—and does not do
FRED documents notifications for new observations in a series. The documentation does not establish a setting that sends an alert only when a yield crosses a level or moves by a chosen number of basis points or percentage. If you need a threshold-triggered alert, verify that a separate service currently supports it before relying on it; do not treat FRED’s update notification as a threshold alert.

Use the Federal Reserve’s curve for a different comparison
The Federal Reserve Board’s Nominal Yield Curve offers a model-based, smoothed view of hypothetical Treasury yields across maturities and time, with coverage from 1961 to the present. The Board says it generally updates the series once a week, typically on Tuesday for the period through the previous Friday. It is useful for historical curve comparisons, but it is neither the Treasury’s daily published par curve nor a FRED email-alert workflow.
The Board’s model uses coupon securities—notes and bonds—but not Treasury bills or floating-rate notes. It also excludes on-the-run and first-off-the-run notes and bonds. Because the Board’s model curve and Treasury’s par curve are constructed differently, their values should not be treated as interchangeable readings of identical inputs.
