You can rate a Facebook Marketplace seller only in the Facebook app for iPhone or Android—not on Facebook.com or Facebook Lite. Open the Marketplace interaction with the seller and follow the rating prompt shown there; the available guidance does not establish a fixed set of taps or button names.
How to submit a seller rating
- Open the Facebook app on an iPhone or Android device. Rating submission is not supported on the website or in Facebook Lite.
- Return to your Marketplace interaction with the seller and follow the rating prompt displayed in the app. The interface may vary, so use the prompt you see rather than looking for a particular button name.
If no prompt appears, Meta’s available guidance does not establish who is eligible to rate or when a prompt should appear. Check the current Facebook Help Center or in-app support rather than assuming a specific eligibility rule or waiting period.
When other people can see the rating
A seller’s ratings become public after the seller has received five or more ratings. People who can see the seller’s Marketplace profile can see those ratings. In Facebook Lite, seller ratings appear on the product details page, although Lite does not support submitting a rating.
What a seller rating does—and does not—tell you
Meta includes seller ratings among its tips for learning about a Marketplace seller. Treat a rating as one piece of feedback to consider alongside the listing and other information available about the seller—not as a guarantee that the seller is trustworthy.

Meta says it does not verify whether reviewers bought the product or used the service they are reviewing. A rating is therefore not proof of a completed or verified transaction.
Changing or removing a rating
The available Meta guidance does not establish whether or how a seller rating can be changed or deleted, how quickly it affects the seller’s overall rating, or what remedy is available after a negative experience. Check the current Facebook Help Center for the applicable guidance before relying on a particular option.
