You can order from Amazon.co.uk for delivery to a US address when the item and seller support that destination. Set your US address before choosing an item, then use checkout to confirm the available shipping methods, delivery estimate, import charges, taxes, and total. Eligibility and costs vary by order, so the live checkout summary—not a general rate table—is the final quote.
How to place an Amazon UK order for US delivery
- Set your delivery destination. On Amazon.co.uk, select the delivery address or add your US address to your account. Search for or reopen the item after setting the destination; the address can affect which items and shipping options appear.
- Check the listing and seller. Confirm that the item can be sent to your address. Amazon’s published international rates apply to qualifying Amazon-fulfilled orders; third-party sellers may set different delivery charges, and some products or categories may be restricted. - Compare the delivery choices at checkout. Compare the estimated delivery window and the full order total, including shipping, import charges, and any taxes. Check the seller and fulfillment method, too. A large item may have a fixed delivery charge shown on its product page.
- Review the final order summary before paying. Recheck it if you change the address, shipping method, or basket contents, since those details can affect whether import charges apply and how much they are.
- Save the order and shipment details. Amazon’s terms say customs authorities may inspect international shipments and that the customer may be the importer of record. If you need details of a customs fee after dispatch, Amazon directs customers to the designated carrier for fee information or customs receipts.
What Amazon UK lists for shipping to the US
Amazon UK’s published US schedule for eligible Amazon-fulfilled orders gives the following service estimates and charge structures. Amazon says the actual options and charges depend on the item and delivery address, and are determined at checkout. These are published estimates and rates checked on October 7, 2026—not a guaranteed delivery date or an individualized quote.

Import charges and US sales taxes
Import Charges are not an exact customs bill
Amazon describes Import Charges as a fixed amount to cover applicable customs processes and costs, but says the amount may differ from the import fees ultimately paid to customs authorities. Amazon states that it does not refund an excess fixed Import Charge and will not seek additional payment if actual fees are higher. Its About Import Charges page puts it this way: “Import Charges may not represent the actual amount of Import Fees paid to Customs authorities.”

Taxes may appear in the order total
Amazon UK says orders sold by Amazon EU Sarl and shipped to the US may be subject to additional state and local sales taxes. Marketplace orders shipped to states with Marketplace Facilitator legislation may also incur these taxes. The page does not establish one tax rate for every US address or order, so check the transaction-specific summary. See About Customs Duties & Taxes.
Know who handles customs responsibilities
Amazon says the international customer is the importer of record and must comply with the receiving country’s laws and regulations. Where Amazon Global does not cover a destination, other customs-clearance charges may be payable directly. Amazon’s Amazon Global Store Terms and Conditions explain related import responsibilities.

Do not assume “Global Store” means an item ships to the US
Amazon UK’s Global Store help page says Global Store products display a complete amount including import duties, taxes, and fees, but also says those items are available for delivery within the UK only. That label does not establish US delivery eligibility. Amazon UK lists separate international-delivery options for eligible Amazon-fulfilled orders; check whether the particular item can be sent to your US address. See Amazon Global Store.
Payment and currency checks
Payment options and currency are specific to the checkout. The reviewed Amazon Pay page lists accepted payment methods for Amazon Pay, but it does not establish that every US-issued card will work for every Amazon.co.uk retail order. Check the payment choices shown for your order and ask your card issuer whether it charges a foreign-transaction fee or applies an exchange-rate markup. Amazon Pay’s accepted payment methods page is a limited reference, not a guarantee for every retail checkout. A UK Amazon gift card is not a general workaround: Amazon’s guidance says gift cards are redeemable only for eligible products on the relevant Amazon website and does not establish that they solve delivery or payment restrictions.

If the item will not ship directly to the US
If checkout does not offer delivery to your US address, that listing cannot be ordered directly to that address through the option shown. You can look for another listing or seller that does offer US delivery. A parcel-forwarding service is a separate arrangement; Amazon’s cited pages do not validate any particular service or establish that forwarding will resolve a product restriction, customs issue, or seller limitation.
