You can usually open a basic Easypaisa mobile account from your phone in about two minutes if the app is installed, your CNIC details are correct, your SIM can receive SMS, and verification is working normally. You need a valid Pakistani CNIC, its date of issuance, your active mobile number, an OTP, and a five-digit PIN. Easypaisa lists Jazz, Ufone, Zong and Telenor users as eligible networks.
The estimate is not a guarantee: app installation, delayed OTPs, an expired CNIC, an existing account or extra verification can take longer.
What you need before you start
- An active Pakistani mobile number that can receive SMS.
- A valid CNIC, including its number and date of issuance.
- The official Easypaisa app and an internet connection, or a supported USSD code.
- A new five-digit PIN that follows Easypaisa’s security rules.
Easypaisa’s standard signup requires CNIC information. An expired CNIC cannot be used for account creation, according to its official FAQ. Do not use somebody else’s CNIC.
Open an Easypaisa account in the app
- Install the official Easypaisa app using the app-store route provided on Easypaisa’s website. Avoid APK download sites and unofficial registration links.
- Open the app and enter the mobile number you actively use.
- Tap Next.
- Enter your CNIC number and the CNIC date of issuance exactly as printed on the document.
- Tap Register.
- Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number. Easypaisa says the code may be auto-fetched.
- Read and accept the terms and conditions.
- Create and, if prompted, confirm a five-digit Easypaisa PIN.
- Log in and check that the account dashboard opens.
Button names and screen layouts can vary by app version, phone and language. The account number is the mobile number registered during signup, and OTP verification is used when logging in.

Choose a safe PIN
Easypaisa says a PIN must contain five digits, must not be an ascending sequence, must not contain more than three repeated characters, and must not be an old PIN. Avoid birth years, CNIC fragments, obvious patterns and any PIN used for another service.
Open an account without the app
USSD is useful on a basic phone or when you cannot install the app. Dial the code for your network:

- Dial the applicable code.
- Enter your CNIC number.
- Enter the CNIC date of issuance.
- Create a five-digit PIN.
- Confirm the PIN.
The official FAQ provides these network-specific codes. USSD menus may provide a narrower experience than the app.
Is opening an Easypaisa account free?
Yes. Easypaisa says account creation has no charge, and its Schedule of Bank Charges lists new mobile-account opening at Rs. 0.00. This applies to opening the account, not automatically to every later service. Cash deposits, ATM withdrawals, transfers, cards and other services can have charges, so check the current schedule before a transaction.

If registration fails
OTP does not arrive
- Check that the mobile number was entered correctly.
- Confirm the SIM is active, in your possession and connected to the network.
- Check signal and SMS service, then wait briefly before trying again.
- Avoid repeated requests. Easypaisa’s FAQ says OTP retrieval is limited to three attempts per day.
- If delivery remains delayed, try later and contact official support.
The FAQ lists 3737 for Telenor users and 042-111-003-737 for non-Telenor users. Confirm current routing on the official contact page.
CNIC details are rejected
Re-enter the CNIC number and date of issuance exactly as shown on the document. Check the date format required by the app. An expired CNIC cannot be used for standard account creation.
Your mobile number is unavailable
You need access to the registered number to receive the OTP. If the SIM is lost, blocked or no longer yours, contact Easypaisa through its official support channels rather than trying to register with another person’s number.
An account already exists
Easypaisa allows one mobile account per CNIC and one account associated with a mobile number at a time. Do not make another account with different identity details. Contact the helpline, complete the requested verification and ask for account migration or assistance.

The PIN is rejected
Choose a genuinely different five-digit PIN that is not an ascending sequence, does not overuse one digit and has not been used before.
The app will not install
Use the official store destination reached from Easypaisa’s website, check your phone’s storage and operating-system compatibility, and use USSD instead if necessary. Never install an unofficial APK.

Basic signup does not guarantee the higher transaction limits you may need. Easypaisa states that limits are subject to applicable State Bank of Pakistan requirements and may change; do not rely on an old limit figure.

- Open your profile area.
- Select Account Level.
- Choose Upgrade your Account.
- Scan your left hand and then your right hand when prompted.
- Complete the requested information and submit it.
See Easypaisa’s account-upgrade instructions. Menu names can change, and additional regulatory or risk verification may be required. The standard FAQ signup flow lists CNIC, OTP, terms acceptance and PIN creation; it does not make biometric scanning a universal requirement for every basic signup.
Protect your account
- Never disclose your OTP, PIN, CNIC image or login code to a caller, message sender or supposed agent.
- Use only Easypaisa’s official website, app-store links and support channels.
- Do not pay anyone to unlock or verify registration.
- Avoid entering identity details over public Wi-Fi.
- Check the recipient’s name and number before confirming a transfer.
- If you suspect compromise, contact Easypaisa promptly through its official contact page.
Only Easypaisa can activate, verify, migrate or recover an account; this article cannot perform those actions.
Special case: accounts for children
The normal process above is for the standard account holder. Easypaisa has a separate NewGen product for children aged 12–17, initiated by a parent. See the official NewGen account page for its requirements.
