You do not need to open a new account or transfer funds from Coinbase Pro today: Coinbase completed the move to Coinbase Advanced on November 20, 2023, and ended Pro access on web and mobile. Advanced is part of Coinbase, and Coinbase said customers use the same account. If you still see a missing or leftover balance, check for open orders, pending ACH deposits, or a failed transfer.
Coinbase Pro has already been retired
Coinbase says it completed the phased migration to Coinbase Advanced on November 20, 2023. Since then, Coinbase Pro has not been supported on web or mobile, and customers can no longer log in. This is a completed transition, not a shutdown you need to schedule. Coinbase’s transition announcement was originally published June 22, 2022, and updated with the completion notice on November 20, 2023.
Do you need to create a new account or move funds?
No new account is required. Coinbase’s guidance says Coinbase Advanced uses the same Coinbase account; the transition information also says assets, history, and balances are shared between Coinbase and Advanced. Whitelisted addresses and linked bank accounts remained the same during the migration. See Coinbase’s Advanced Trade overview.
Coinbase’s old manual Pro transfer instructions were to open Portfolios, choose Withdraw, select All Portfolios, then transfer to Coinbase.com. Its support instructions also described using the transfer banner or Portfolios and Withdraw. Those steps applied to the former Pro interface; because Pro access ended in 2023, they may not be available if you did not complete the transfer at the time. Open Pro buy and sell orders did not migrate as live orders. Coinbase said open orders were canceled during the transition. In its manual transfer guidance, Coinbase also noted that funds reserved for open orders were excluded from a transfer until the orders were canceled and the transfer completed. If your displayed balance is lower than expected, check whether an order or order-held amount is involved.

Why might a balance still be missing or left over?
Coinbase says a completed transfer makes funds immediately available to trade on Coinbase. Its support guidance identifies several reasons a balance may not appear as expected:
- Open orders: funds held against orders may not have been included until those orders were canceled.
- Pending instant deposit: an instant deposit funded by ACH may still be awaiting bank settlement.
- Failed transfer: a transfer may not have completed successfully; Coinbase advises retrying a failed transfer.
Check your Coinbase account activity and any remaining order or deposit status. If a transfer still appears to have failed or funds remain inaccessible, contact Coinbase Support; public instructions cannot determine the status of an individual account.

What changed in Advanced Trade?
Advanced is Coinbase’s order-book trading interface, with analytical and order-management tools intended for users who want more control than standard Coinbase trading. Coinbase lists advanced order types, TradingView charts, real-time order-book and depth-chart data, and API access. Users can switch between standard Coinbase and Advanced while retaining shared assets, history, and balances. Details are on Coinbase’s Advanced Trade page.
How to check trading fees now
Coinbase’s migration guidance described Advanced as having the same low, volume-based pricing as Pro and no Advanced subscription fee. That does not establish a single current rate for every trade. Coinbase’s current fee information says fees depend on product, pricing tier, and whether an order is maker or taker; pricing can change.
