There is no documented BolsaBuddy import, backup, or restore procedure in the available project description. That means you should not assume the tracker supports CSV or JSON imports, automatically backs up your portfolio, or can safely restore a copied file. Before moving or replacing any files, verify how the current version stores your watchlist and other personal data in the creator’s project description and linked repository.
What BolsaBuddy does—and what is not documented
The creator describes BolsaBuddy as a free, locally run tracker for Mexico’s IPC (^MXX). Its stated features include daily market context, a plain-language brief, and a watchlist that pairs a holding’s price with a saved thesis and a price-based condition that would invalidate that thesis. The creator identifies Yahoo Finance’s free daily feed as the market-data source and says its historical data reaches back to 1991. These are the creator’s descriptions; they do not independently establish the feed’s current delay, licensing, completeness, or reliability.

How to protect your data before changing anything
Until the current repository or project author confirms the storage and migration behavior, avoid deleting, overwriting, or moving files on the assumption that they are disposable market-data cache. The creator’s article provides this pipeline command:

What to verify in the current repository
Before relying on a backup or migration, check the current version of the project or ask its author to confirm each of these points:
- Which exact files or directories hold user-created data, including watchlists and saved investment theses.
- Whether user data is separate from cached or downloaded market data.
- Whether the project currently provides export, import, backup, or restore commands, and which formats they support.
- Whether restoring a backup replaces existing data, merges it, or requires a particular sequence.
- Whether the instructions apply to the version you are using, and whether the method has been tested on that version.
- Whether the data remains local during the operation or is sent to an external service.
Do not treat a USB drive or manual file copy as a BolsaBuddy feature. A removable drive would only be an optional place to store a copy after the project’s actual data files and a safe copy-and-restore procedure have been verified.

What BolsaBuddy’s brief does not establish
The creator labels a sample fallback brief “No investment advice.” The project description does not provide evidence that its summaries improve investment outcomes. A secondary iTechGuides overview likewise does not replace checking the current repository for data-handling instructions.
