How to get AutoCAD LT for free through a trial
Autodesk’s AutoCAD LT trial lasts 15 days, after which the software expires. Autodesk says the trial cannot be extended. Start it when you have time to evaluate the features you need, rather than assuming you can keep using it without payment afterward. See Autodesk’s trial information for current access details.
If the trial ends before your project does, Autodesk points to a monthly subscription or Flex tokens as paid alternatives. Neither is an extension of the free trial.
When educational access is free—and when it is not
Students and educators may qualify for Autodesk education access. Autodesk describes the access period as one year, renewable while the person remains eligible. The software must be used for educational purposes; using it for for-profit work requires a paid plan. Check Autodesk’s education eligibility rules before relying on this route.

Education access is therefore not a way to license commercial client work for free. If your use is for-profit, compare paid subscription and Flex options instead.

Check promotions without assuming a discount
Autodesk’s Canada and UK campaign pages give examples of regional promotions that may be available to some former trial users who are not currently subscribed.
