You do not need to file a claim or fill out a form to receive an automatic payment under the current FTC Amazon Prime settlement process. Eligible consumers are paid by check, PayPal, or Venmo. Verify any message on the FTC’s official Amazon refunds page, and contact the settlement administrator using details listed there if your payment is missing or you have a problem. Do not pay a fee or share personal information with someone who contacts you promising access to a refund.
Do you need to file a claim?
No. The FTC says eligible consumers do not need to submit a claim or form for the current automatic payment rounds. Payments are based on Amazon’s records, so a general announcement cannot confirm whether you personally qualify or how much you will receive.

Who may receive a payment, and how much?
The revised order expands automatic payments to certain customers who used more than 10 and no more than 20 Prime benefits during a 12-month period of Prime enrollment. The expanded payments began October 1, 2026. Eligibility depends on the order’s terms, Amazon’s records, and any payments already received; being in this usage range alone does not guarantee payment.

The FTC says the total redress for an eligible customer can be up to $200. Earlier payments to a different eligible group were capped at $51; the revised terms permit additional payments for some recipients, subject to the order. More than $845 million in refunds had been issued as of September 2026. The FTC says automatic refunds are expected to continue through April 2027, and further supplemental payments may begin by then under the order’s conditions. These dates and limits do not establish an individual payment amount or arrival date.
The settlement resolved FTC allegations that Amazon enrolled consumers in Prime without consent and made cancellation difficult. The allegations and settlement do not mean that every Prime enrollment was improper.

How will the payment arrive?
The FTC identifies three delivery methods: mailed check, PayPal, or Venmo. A payment expires 60 days after it is issued. Follow the instructions in the official notice promptly to accept an electronic payment or deposit or cash a check. If you cannot access the selected account, the check went to an old address, or you cannot act before the expiration date, contact the administrator using the FTC-listed details.
How to check whether a notice is genuine
- Go to the FTC page yourself. Type or independently locate the official Amazon refunds page instead of clicking an unsolicited link. Compare the message with the current official instructions.
- Treat claims of FTC outreach as a warning. The FTC says it is not contacting consumers about refunds in this matter.
- Never pay to get a refund. The FTC says Amazon will not ask for money to release a payment. A demand for a fee, gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or payment for “special access” is inconsistent with the stated process.
- Do not give personal information to an unsolicited contact. Verify independently before responding to any message or call about a payment.
- Use contact details from the FTC page. Do not trust a phone number, email address, or website provided only by the message you received.
What to do if your payment is missing or went to an old address
Contact the settlement administrator; it can check account-level payment information that public announcements cannot show. The FTC page lists [email protected], 1-888-999-8094, and SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com. Navigate from the FTC page to confirm the current contact information before using it.

If you received a notice but no payment, the public FTC guidance does not establish your individual status or guarantee a reissue. Contact the administrator promptly, especially if the notice says the 60-day payment period is running. Explain that the check went to an old address or that an electronic payment is unavailable, and follow the administrator’s instructions.

The FTC announced a $2.5 billion settlement in 2025, comprising up to $1.5 billion in consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty. In announcing the revised order in September 2026, FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Christopher Mufarrige said it would ensure more consumers harmed by the alleged practices benefit from the settlement. The practical rules for an individual payment, however, are determined by the order and the administrator’s records.
