Before submitting, save any files or other data you need: processing a refund cancels the affected service and can permanently erase its associated data and configuration. If you only want to stop the next charge, turn off auto-renewal instead and keep using the service through its paid term.
How to request a Hostinger refund
- Save what you want to keep. Download needed website files, databases, email, and other data before requesting the refund. Hostinger warns that data and configuration associated with a refunded service are permanently lost after processing. Website Builder backups cannot be downloaded through the usual backup process; Hostinger suggests exporting content to WordPress. For AI Builder content, manually save items such as text, images, and product listings.
- Open the payment in your account. Sign in to the Hostinger dashboard and find the paid invoice or payment ID for the service you want refunded.
- Check for the Refund option. If it appears, select it, confirm which services are included, and acknowledge the data-loss warning. Hostinger says a missing Refund button means that payment ID is not eligible through this flow under its policy.
- Choose where the money should go. Select Hostinger Balance or, if offered, the original payment method. Balance is immediate account credit and cannot later be transferred to another payment source. A refund to the original method can take hours to several business days or longer, depending on the payment method.
- Submit and check the status. Hostinger says it sends an email confirmation after submission. You can also look in Billing → Payment History for the request status.
Some payment methods limit the destination: under Hostinger’s current Refund Policy, Multibanco, GCash, and Fawry purchases can be refunded only to Hostinger Balance, while VTC Pay supports full refunds only.
Is your Hostinger purchase eligible?
Hostinger’s Refund Policy, revised October 2, 2026, gives eligible products a general 30-day refund window measured from the transaction date. A transaction can be a purchase or a processed renewal. That does not make every service, renewal, or payment refundable: product-specific conditions, exclusions, payment route, and sometimes refund history matter. Hostinger’s legal policy is the controlling source when its details differ from a simplified help summary.
Products and charges with different rules
The policy lists specified hosting plans, SSL certificates, Daily Backups, CloudFlare, Hostinger Email, Titan Email, Priority Support, some NordVPN plans, Minecraft Game Panel VPS, KVM VPS, WordPress Addons, and Dark Web Monitor among products that may qualify under standard terms. Exceptions and product-specific conditions still apply.

Examples the policy lists as non-refundable include domain renewals, successful domain transfers, redemption fees, privacy protection, Google Workspace Email, VPS licenses, certain upgrades and add-ons, paid support, GPU Hosting, Hostinger Credits, and specified AI credits. Cryptocurrency, tokens, and other digital-asset purchases are not refundable under the standard policy. Services suspended, canceled, or terminated for abusive use or terms violations are also excluded.
Domains and transfers
Most new general-TLD domain registrations, including .com, .net, and .org, have a 96-hour limit and an additional condition tied to the time since a prior domain-registration refund. Qualifying .br, .com.br, and .net.br registrations have a seven-day condition. Some country-code registries do not permit refunds; check the policy for the exact extension rather than assuming it qualifies.

For domain transfers, the current legal policy sets a 30-day request window for an unsuccessful transfer. Hostinger’s help-center summary gives a shorter 96-hour general summary, so use the legal policy for the governing deadline and confirm the specific transaction’s eligibility.
VPS, Reach, and Horizons
- VPS: The policy sets a 30-day request window and requires more than 180 days to have passed since the last VPS refund. KVM and Minecraft Game Panel VPS upgrades are excluded.
- Hostinger Reach: The policy sets a 30-day request period and a 180-day interval condition, along with a restriction related to prior use of its free plan.
- Hostinger Horizons: A qualifying request must be made within 30 days, with fewer than 30 AI messages or prompts used.
These are policy conditions, not guarantees of approval. Check the current policy and the Refund option for the relevant payment before proceeding.

Refund or turn off auto-renewal?
Choose based on whether you want money returned for an eligible transaction or simply want to avoid a future renewal. A processed refund cancels the affected service and erases its associated data. Turning off auto-renewal is different: the service remains active until its expiration date, then is canceled.

To stop renewal, use Hostinger’s dashboard billing or subscriptions controls to disable auto-renewal. Hostinger’s cancellation guidance explains this separate option.

Before you submit: a quick checklist
- Identify the invoice or payment ID for the exact service and transaction.
- Check the product-specific terms, transaction date, payment method, domain extension if relevant, and any prior-refund conditions in the Refund Policy.
- Download or manually save anything you need to retain, including website files, databases, email, and Builder content.
- Decide whether Hostinger Balance credit or the offered original payment method better suits you; Balance refunds are irreversible.
- If your aim is only to prevent a future renewal, disable auto-renewal rather than requesting a refund.
