Prime members can read eligible Kindle e-books through Prime Reading, a rotating selection included with the benefit. Since it is October 2026, June 2026 has passed, and the available information does not confirm a specific June book or catalog year. Check the live book page before counting on a title: availability changes.
How to find and read a Prime Reading book
- Sign in to the Amazon account that has Prime membership.
- Open Amazon’s Prime Reading catalog and browse or search the current selection.
- Open a book’s detail page and confirm it is marked as included with Prime Reading. An older June list may describe a title that is no longer eligible.
- Choose the borrow, read, or download option shown on the page and follow Amazon’s prompts.
- Read using a supported Kindle device or an available Kindle app route. Check the title’s current instructions for device availability; Kindle hardware is not required in every case.
Amazon describes Prime Reading as a rotating selection of books and other digital titles for Prime members. Its KDP help page also describes the selection as rotating. Because the catalog is live, the title page—not a past roundup—is the useful check for a particular book.
Prime Reading is access, not a permanent e-book purchase
A book available through Prime Reading is included for access through the benefit; it is not the same as buying and owning a Kindle e-book. Amazon’s Kindle Store Terms of Use, last updated June 30, 2026, tie subscription-content access to an active membership. If membership ends or a title leaves the eligible catalog, do not assume access will continue.
How Prime Reading differs from other free Kindle-book routes
| Route | Why the book is available | Catalog or eligibility | Access and device details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prime Reading | Included with eligible Prime access; no separate Kindle Unlimited subscription is implied. | Rotating selection; verify the book’s current detail page. | Access depends on membership and title eligibility. A Kindle e-reader is not necessarily required; use the supported options shown for the title. |
| Kindle Unlimited | A separate subscription, not automatically included in Prime. | Separate catalog that may change; Amazon’s current help says customers can borrow up to 20 titles at a time. | Amazon says it works on Kindle devices and through the Kindle app on smartphones, computers, and tablets. See Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited help. |
| KDP Select Free Book Promotion | A publisher may temporarily set an eligible Kindle e-book’s price to free; Prime is not what makes that promotion free. | Applies to eligible titles enrolled in KDP Select and follows that program’s rules. | Amazon KDP allows a title to be offered free for up to five days in each 90-day KDP Select enrollment period. A promotion must be scheduled at least one day before it starts. Details: KDP Free Book Promotions. |
Do you need a Kindle device?
No dedicated e-reader is required if the title is available through a Kindle app on a supported phone, tablet, or computer. Amazon identifies Kindle e-readers as supported devices, and its Kindle Unlimited help describes app access on multiple device types. Prime Reading title availability can differ, so follow the current instructions on the book listing rather than assuming every title works on every device.

What “this June” means for this guide
The title does not specify a year or Amazon marketplace. As of October 8, 2026, June 2026 is in the past, and the available Amazon information does not establish a particular June catalog or featured book. This guide therefore explains how to check for a book when it is listed, rather than promising a specific June title. If you mean a different June or marketplace, use that marketplace’s live Prime Reading catalog and verify the book’s inclusion there.
