OR-IEH-01 means Google wants you to verify payment information or identity in your Google Account. Sign in to Google Payments, check Alerts for a Verify option, and follow the instructions. If there is no alert, open Payment methods and check the affected card. The available steps can vary by account, product, and region.
What OR-IEH-01 means
Google lists OR-IEH-01 among payment errors that require verification. Its guidance directs users to verify information in their Google Account’s payment methods. The code alone does not establish that a card is expired, that the bank permanently blocked it, or that Google Pay is experiencing an outage. See Google’s payment troubleshooting guidance.
The error can occur while paying for Google products or services; it is not limited to a tap-to-pay transaction in Google Wallet. The verification takes place through Google Payments, even if the error appeared in Google Play, a subscription, or another Google billing flow.
Verify the payment method in Google Payments
- Open payments.google.com in a browser.
- Sign in to the same Google Account used for the failed purchase. If you use several accounts, confirm that you have not opened a secondary, work, or school account by mistake.
- At the top right, open Alerts and select Verify if prompted.
- If there is no alert, open Payment methods, find the affected card, and select Verify beside it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Depending on the account and payment method, Google may ask you to confirm information or complete an available bank or Google verification step.
- After Google shows that verification is complete, return to the original purchase or billing page and try the payment again.

If there is no alert or Verify option
Open Payment methods directly rather than relying only on the Alerts area. Check that the affected card is listed under the Google Account used for the purchase and look for another payment method marked as needing attention. If the card or verification request is absent from the correct account, use Google’s official payment troubleshooting page to reach the appropriate support route instead of repeatedly submitting the same payment.
Deleting and re-adding the card is not Google’s documented first fix for this code. Repeated changes or failed attempts may complicate troubleshooting; start with the account’s verification request.

Check the card details and billing address
If Google asks you to review payment information, compare it with the card and the issuer’s records:
- Confirm the card number, expiration date, cardholder name, and security code if requested.
- Make sure the billing address in Google Payments matches the address held by the card issuer. Google specifically advises checking this match.
- Confirm the card is active and has sufficient available funds or credit.
- If the issuer may be blocking the transaction, ask whether online, international, recurring, or digital-wallet transactions are restricted or require a separate approval.
Correct details in Google Payments before retrying. If the bank requires an authentication prompt or fraud approval, complete it through the bank’s official app, website, or phone number.

When to try another card or contact your bank
A different payment method can help determine whether the issue is specific to one card, but it does not replace a requested Google Account verification. If one card fails while another works, check the first card’s details and issuer restrictions. If verification succeeds but the transaction is still declined, contact the bank or payment provider; Google notes that issuers may decline payments or disable online and international use.
If several cards fail on the same Google Account, the problem may involve the payments profile or another account-level check rather than each card independently. Check account alerts and payment methods, then contact Google Support if the profile remains blocked.

If verification does not resolve the error
First confirm that the information you entered matches the card and billing records and complete any bank authentication request. If Google Payments still provides no way to verify, or the account remains unable to use payment methods after verification, stop repeating the same attempt and contact Google through its official support route.
Google’s guidance includes a two-day wait-and-retry instruction for certain errors in its contact-support category. That is not a universal 48-hour fix for every OR-IEH-01 case. Complete any available verification first; if the account appears to be under review, avoid repeated retries and follow the instructions shown for your specific error.

If a browser page is failing to load or a verification window will not open, trying a standard browser session with extensions that interfere with pop-ups temporarily disabled may help. This is a general troubleshooting measure, not a documented OR-IEH-01 remedy; it does not substitute for Google’s payment-profile verification.
If a Google service bill is urgent
For a time-sensitive payment, use another verified payment method if available and pay through the service’s official website or app. If the issue could affect Google Fi, Google Fiber, Google Cloud, or another service account, contact that service’s official support channel as well as Google Payments support. Service support may help with account consequences, but it is not a guaranteed way to remove a payment-verification hold.
When contacting support, have the error code, a screenshot, the transaction date, the Google Account email, and the last four digits of the affected card ready. Never share a full card number, password, or verification code with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
Protect yourself while troubleshooting
Use Google’s official sites and the phone number on your card or the bank’s official website. Do not trust third-party “Google Pay support” numbers found in search results or pay a service promising to remove the error. OR-IEH-01 is not proof of fraud; if you find a charge you do not recognize, review your Google payments activity and use Google’s unauthorized-transactions form, and contact the issuer’s fraud department.
Google does not publicly document every internal reason that may trigger verification. A VPN, phone change, particular bank, or other single factor should not be treated as the confirmed cause of this code without evidence specific to your account.
