That is a point-in-time report, not a guarantee that every feature, merchant, account, or connection is working. Check the live status and advisories first; if they show normal service, use the steps below that match your error.
Check GCash’s service status first
Open the official Service Status & Advisories page for the latest report. On October 8, 2026, it displayed “All Services Are Working Normally” and separately noted that EzySave+ by Maybank and #MySaveUp by BPI in GSave would be restored. Status and partner availability can change, so treat that wording as the page’s report at the time you check—not proof that a particular transaction or account is healthy.
If there is no advisory matching your problem, the cause may be the app, phone, connection, account security, OTP delivery, or merchant. Match the error message to the appropriate official guidance rather than repeatedly retrying or changing unrelated settings.
If the app will not open, crashes, or shows “Something Went Wrong”
GCash’s login troubleshooting guidance recommends these steps for app access problems:

- Force-close GCash, then reopen it.
- Check your device’s app store for a GCash update and install it if available.
- Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, turn it off, then try the app again.
- On Android, clear the app cache and relaunch GCash.
GCash’s help page says iOS 14 or newer is required to access the app. Compatibility requirements can change; consult the current GCash Help Center guidance if you are unsure whether your iPhone is supported.
For “Failed Login Attempt” on Android
For this specific message, GCash directs Android users to open Settings > Apps (or App Manager) > GCash > Storage (or Storage & cache) > Clear Cache, then reopen the app. Do not select “Clear Data” or “Clear Storage”; GCash explicitly warns against doing so for this issue. On iOS, force-close GCash and reopen it.

If an OTP does not arrive or MPIN reset is blocked
For a missing OTP, GCash advises waiting 15 minutes before trying again. Also check that your phone has a strong signal, your SMS inbox is not full, and the GCash app is updated. These checks do not guarantee that every account-specific OTP problem will resolve.
If MPIN reset displays “Unable to send you a code at this time,” wait at least 15 minutes before requesting another OTP. If the error code begins with “0a7,” GCash’s instruction is to wait 24 hours before trying again.

If GCash says “You cannot login using this phone”
GCash says this warning appears when its security features detect multiple unusual attempts to change the device registered to the app. Its stated option is to use the previously registered device. If you can no longer access that device, GCash says you may use a new device starting the next month. Follow the official account process; do not try to bypass the security restriction.
If you see “Detected an untrusted connection”
GCash identifies errors such as REF: 2631 00AF, REF: 6948, and 2631 as this connection warning. Update the app first. If the message remains, try a different Wi-Fi network or switch to mobile data, then reopen GCash. This guidance points to checking the network path; it does not establish that a particular VPN, DNS service, or other network product is responsible.

If an online payment or subscription fails
GCash says it is unavailable for online payments with some merchants. Check its advisories and the affected-merchant information linked from the official online payment or subscription error guidance.
If the error appeared after you paid or subscribed through a merchant’s website or app, contact that merchant about the order, transaction details, or a possible refund. If the merchant is not listed as affected, check that your internet connection is stable, your wallet has enough balance, and your wallet and transaction limits allow the payment. If the issue continues, use GCash support.

For a lost SIM or device, account hold, face scan, or offline access
These situations need account-specific support, not ordinary cache troubleshooting. GCash’s Login Tips & Issues index has dedicated guidance for accounts on hold; lost or stolen SIMs, phones, or devices; damaged devices; other login methods; offline transactions; and face-scan or verification errors. For a lost SIM, GCash says to report it immediately through the app and follow its account-recovery steps. Use the official Help Center route for the situation that applies.
