Start with the least disruptive checks: note the exact message, restart the phone, test whether the fault follows the phone or the network/accessory, and inspect connections for visible damage. Do not jump straight to a factory reset. TECNO, Infinix, and itel models use different hardware, Android builds, carrier settings, and regional service policies, so confirm the exact model and software version before following a menu path or buying a replacement part.
Start with a safe, model-aware diagnosis
A useful fix depends on separating a temporary software problem from a network, accessory, account, or hardware problem. Before changing settings, write down the phone model, Android or HiOS version, carrier, and the precise wording of any warning. Record when the problem started and what changed immediately beforehand, such as a system update, new SIM, dropped phone, liquid exposure, or new charger.

- Restart once. A normal restart can clear a temporary process or radio fault without deleting personal data.
- Reproduce the symptom. Note whether it happens every time, only in one location, with one app, or only while using one cable or accessory.
- Check for physical risk. Stop using a visibly damaged cable, adapter, charging port, or phone. Do not open the handset, press on the battery, or attempt an unverified battery repair.
- Protect important data. If the phone still works, back up photos, contacts, messages, and authenticator information before any reset or service visit.
| Pattern you observe | What it may indicate | Low-risk first move | Escalate when |
|---|---|---|---|
| One app fails while others work | An app-specific or account problem | Restart and check the app’s official-store update | The app remains unusable after an update, or several apps begin failing |
| Several apps, menus, or the whole phone stop responding | A system process, storage, power, or hardware problem | Record the state, connect reliable power if safe, and restart using the model’s documented method | The phone repeatedly freezes, will not boot, or has physical damage |
| No service in one place only | Coverage, local obstruction, or a temporary carrier issue | Move to another location and compare with another phone on the same carrier | Service is absent in multiple locations or the carrier confirms the account is active |
| Charging fails with one cable or adapter | Cable, adapter, outlet, or connector problem | Check the outlet and every connection; inspect for damage | The phone will not charge with a compatible, undamaged setup |
| Charging fails with several known-good setups | Phone connector, battery, or charging circuitry problem | Stop repeated experiments and preserve data | Arrange authorized inspection, especially if the phone is hot, swollen, wet, or damaged |
Fixing “No Service” or “Network Disconnected”
itel’s official troubleshooting index includes the labels “No Service” and “Network Disconnected.” Those headings identify support topics; they do not establish one universal fix for every handset, SIM, carrier, or country. Use the sequence below to determine whether the fault is local to the phone or wider than the phone.

1. Capture the exact circumstances
Write down the message exactly as shown and whether it appears in the status bar, during a call, after a reboot, or only inside a particular app. Check whether the phone displays signal bars, an emergency-calls-only state, or no network indicator. The wording and location of the message help official support match it to the correct model and software build.

2. Test another location
Move outside or to a different area where the carrier normally works. If service returns, the original location may have weak coverage, building interference, or a temporary outage. Compare with another phone using the same carrier in the same place. If that phone also loses service, contact the carrier rather than changing handset settings repeatedly.
3. Try a restart or airplane-mode toggle
A normal restart is a reversible general Android check. You can also toggle airplane mode on, wait briefly, and turn it off to make the phone reinitialize its radios. These are general suggestions, not a model-specific itel procedure; labels and timing can differ by software version.
4. Check the SIM without forcing the tray
If the problem began after a SIM change, power the phone down and follow the exact model manual for tray removal and reinsertion. Never force a tray or insert a tool where the manual does not indicate. A damaged, inactive, or incorrectly provisioned SIM requires carrier assistance. If the phone has dual-SIM hardware, note which slot and line show the error before contacting support.
5. Separate account, carrier, and handset causes
Ask the carrier to confirm that the line is active and that there is no outage, restriction, or required network update. If your SIM works in another compatible phone but no SIM works in this handset, the phone’s radio, tray, or software may need service. If the same SIM fails everywhere, the carrier or SIM is the more likely path. Do not assume a network reset, manual band selection, or a factory reset is appropriate until the model manual or carrier gives that instruction.
Improving poor call quality
Call-quality complaints can come from coverage, the other caller’s network, the phone’s microphone or speaker, Bluetooth routing, or a software fault. Isolate one variable at a time rather than changing several settings and losing track of the result.

Determine whether the problem is network or handset
- Make a test call in a different location. If quality changes with location, signal or local interference is likely involved.
- Call more than one person. A problem with one contact may be at the other end of the call.
- Compare the phone’s normal earpiece, speakerphone, and a trusted wired or wireless accessory. If only one route sounds bad, its microphone, speaker, or Bluetooth connection deserves attention.
- Ask whether the other person hears you clearly. One-way audio points to a different path than distorted audio in both directions.
Check simple audio causes
End any call, restart the phone, and make another test call. Confirm that Bluetooth is not routing audio to an unwanted device and that the volume is audible. Keep microphones and speakers unobstructed; do not insert objects into openings or use liquids. If calls fail while other network functions work, record the time, location, and whether Wi-Fi calling or a particular SIM was selected, then ask the carrier or model support for the correct settings.
Know when to stop troubleshooting
Persistent crackling, silence, or one-way audio after tests in multiple locations can indicate a damaged microphone, speaker, connector, or radio. Physical damage, liquid exposure, or a phone that became hot during the fault is a reason to use an authorized repair route rather than repeatedly resetting it.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Begin with the external connection. An excerpt from the itel P55 5G user manual specifically says to ensure the charger and cable are securely connected and undamaged. That is evidence for that model, not a universal charging procedure for every TECNO, Infinix, or itel phone.
1. Check the complete charging chain
- Try a different wall outlet that you know supplies power.
- Confirm that the adapter is firmly connected to the outlet and the cable is firmly connected at both ends.
- Inspect the cable, adapter, and phone connector in good light. Stop using any part that is frayed, cracked, bent, wet, or unusually hot.
- Leave the phone connected for several minutes, then check whether the charging indicator appears. A deeply discharged phone may not show an immediate percentage change.
2. Use only a compatible, undamaged replacement
If the cable or adapter is suspect, use a replacement that matches the exact phone specification and the manufacturer’s safety guidance. The available manual evidence does not justify recommending one connector type, wattage, or “fast-charge” rating for all models. Check the model manual or regional support page before buying. A replacement cable is sensible only when inspection points to the cable and the phone itself is otherwise safe.
3. Treat heat, moisture, and damage as stop signs
Disconnect the phone if it becomes unusually hot, smells burnt, shows swelling, or has been exposed to liquid. Do not open the handset, puncture or press the battery, dry it with heat, or continue swapping chargers to force a result. Arrange an inspection through an authorized service channel.

4. Distinguish slow charging from no charging
If the percentage rises slowly, compare the result with the model’s normal behavior under the same conditions and check whether a demanding app or a poor-quality accessory is involved. If the percentage never rises with a compatible, undamaged setup, the connector, battery, or charging circuitry may require service. Keep notes about which outlet, adapter, and cable were tested so a technician can reproduce the symptom.
Stopping apps from crashing
First determine whether one app fails or the entire phone is unstable. A single app that closes while the rest of the system works calls for app-level checks; several apps failing together points toward a system, storage, update, or hardware issue.
For one affected app
- Restart the phone and open the app again.
- Open the app’s official store page and install any available update. Avoid unofficial downloads that can introduce a second problem.
- Check whether the failure happens after one specific action, such as signing in, opening the camera, or loading a large file. Record the exact message.
- Before clearing app storage or uninstalling, back up anything stored only inside that app and confirm you know the account credentials needed to sign in again.
Clearing storage can remove local settings, downloads, drafts, or offline data. It is not the same as clearing a temporary cache, and the available support material does not establish a single menu path for all HiOS, XOS, or itel software versions. Use the exact model’s manual for the current labels.
For multiple affected apps
Restart, check for a system update offered by the phone’s normal settings, and make sure the device has enough free storage for routine operation. Do not delete personal files blindly. If crashes continue across unrelated apps, save data while the phone is usable and contact official support; a factory reset may be considered only after model-specific guidance and a verified backup.
When the phone freezes or stops responding
Note what is still working: screen touch, physical buttons, charging indicator, incoming calls, or notification sounds. If the display is frozen but the phone is cool and undamaged, wait briefly, connect a safe charger if the battery may be empty, and use only the restart or forced-restart method documented for that exact model. Button combinations differ, so do not apply a sequence copied from another TECNO, Infinix, or itel handset.

Recognize a recurring freeze
A one-time lockup after a demanding task may be temporary. Repeated freezes after every restart, freezes during charging, or freezes accompanied by random reboots, severe heat, swelling, or liquid exposure require service rather than repeated forced restarts. If you can reach the home screen, back up important information and record the apps or actions present before each failure.
Protect data before disruptive steps
A restart normally preserves data; clearing app storage, removing accounts, or resetting the phone may not. Confirm that contacts and photos are backed up and that you can recover two-factor authentication before accepting a reset. If the phone cannot stay on long enough to back up, tell the service center that data preservation is important and ask what is possible before authorizing work.
Use a reset only after reversible checks
A factory reset is not a routine first step for a charging fault, network message, or single crashing app. It erases user data and may not repair a damaged connector, battery, microphone, speaker, SIM, or carrier account. Consider it only when the exact model’s official instructions support it, simpler checks have failed, and you have a verified backup and the credentials needed to set the phone up again.
| Action | Reversibility | What it can clarify | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Restart | High | Temporary process or radio fault | Unsaved work may be lost |
| Move location or test another carrier device | High | Coverage or outage versus handset | None beyond time and access |
| Test an undamaged, specification-matched cable or adapter | High | Accessory versus phone charging fault | Unsafe or incompatible accessories can damage equipment |
| Clear one app’s storage | Medium | Corrupt local app state | Local app data may be deleted |
| Factory reset | Low | Some persistent software problems | Personal data and settings are erased; hardware faults remain |

TECNO support and HiOS resources
TECNO’s official support site provides phone and HiOS resources, user guides and downloads, community support, and a route to Carlcare repair centers. Use the country or regional support page that matches where the phone was purchased and used. Search by the exact model and software version rather than applying instructions for a visually similar handset.
Infinix, TECNO, and itel service through Carlcare
Carlcare states: “Carlcare is the official customer service provider for Infinix, TECNO, itel and more.” Its service information includes phone repair, service-center lookup, warranty checks, and repair-status tracking. Availability, authorized locations, and warranty terms vary by country, purchase channel, model, and the local policy in effect, so verify those details before travelling or sending a phone.

itel’s troubleshooting index
itel’s official index lists “No Service,” “Network Disconnected,” call-quality issues, and web recovery mode among its support topics. Treat the index as a route to model-specific help, not proof that one setting fixes every handset. Follow the manual for the exact model and software build before using recovery or reset functions.
What to give support or a repair center
A concise record speeds diagnosis and reduces unnecessary resets. Provide:
- Exact model name and, if available, serial or IMEI details requested by the official channel.
- Software version, carrier, country, and SIM arrangement.
- The exact on-screen message and the date and conditions when it appears.
- Steps already tried, including locations, outlets, cables, adapters, and other devices used for comparison.
- Any drop, liquid exposure, swelling, unusual heat, recent update, or replacement part.
Ask whether the center is authorized for your country and model, whether data may be erased, and how warranty eligibility is determined. Do not assume a repair is covered or free until the local policy confirms it, and do not rely on an advertised price from another region.
A practical decision path
- Identify the fault precisely. Use the literal message, affected function, model, software version, carrier, and location.
- Run reversible checks. Restart, test another location or caller, verify connections, and compare with another device or accessory where safe.
- Check the scope. One app, one SIM, one cable, or one place suggests a narrower cause than a fault affecting every app, network, and accessory.
- Protect data. Back up before clearing storage, removing accounts, or resetting.
- Escalate with evidence. Use the model’s official guide, regional TECNO resources, the appropriate carrier, or an authorized Carlcare center.
This order keeps the least risky explanations in view while avoiding unsupported, model-specific button combinations or settings changes. It also gives a technician useful evidence if the fault is intermittent.
