Nike’s US instructions do not describe a separate customer-facing activation step; if a card appears inactive or its balance is unexpectedly zero, contact Nike or the retailer that sold it.
Find the Nike gift card number and PIN
Physical gift card
Check the back of the card for the gift card number and PIN. Keep the card secure: Nike advises treating gift cards like cash.

Digital gift card
- Open the email that delivered the gift card.
- Select “View My Gift Card.”
- Enter the email address to which the card was sent, then select “Verify Email.”
- Use the page to view the card number, PIN, and balance.
If the email asks you to verify, use the recipient email address associated with the delivery. Nike’s instructions are on its gift card help page.
Check your Nike gift card balance
Use Nike’s official balance lookup and enter both the card number and PIN. Nike’s US terms also list two other ways to inquire: call 1-800-806-6453 or ask at a Nike-owned or Converse-owned store.

If the displayed balance is zero
If you bought the card directly from Nike, contact Nike. If you received it as a gift or it was purchased elsewhere, contact the giver or original retailer. Keep the card and its details secure while resolving the issue.
Redeem a Nike gift card online
On Nike.com
- Proceed to checkout and open the Payment section.
- Choose the gift card, voucher, or promo-code option.
- Enter the gift card number. Nike says the PIN field appears after the number is entered.
- Enter the PIN and apply the card.
In the Nike or SNKRS app
- Open Payment during checkout.
- Add a Nike Gift Card.
- Enter the card number and PIN, apply the card, and continue checkout.
What if the card does not cover the order?
Apply the gift card, then pay any remaining amount with another accepted payment method. If the purchase costs less than the card balance, the unused funds remain on the card. Nike’s US terms permit up to ten gift cards in one transaction.

Activation, regional terms, and other limits
Nike’s US help instructions explain how to retrieve a card’s details, check its balance, and apply it at checkout; they do not set out a separate customer-facing activation procedure. That does not establish that every card from every seller is activated in the same way. If a card bought elsewhere seems inactive, ask the original retailer about its activation and purchase status.
Nike’s gift-card terms, last updated October 2024, apply to cards purchased, obtained, redeemed, or used in the United States and Puerto Rico. For that region, Nike states: “Gift Cards do not expire, and there are no fees associated with any Gift Cards.” The terms also say cards cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law, and cannot be used to buy other gift cards. Eligible redemption locations include Nike.com, Converse.com, select Nike mobile apps, Nike-owned and Converse-owned stores in the US and Puerto Rico, and certain affiliated properties; those properties can change. These terms are not universal. Gift card rules vary by issuing country, including expiry rules, so use the terms for the country where your card was issued.
