For a personal Chase checking account or credit card, use Spending Planner to download transaction files. On desktop, Chase documents CSV, QFX, QIF, and QBO downloads covering the last two years. In the Chase Mobile app, it documents PDF downloads covering the last calendar year. The device determines both the available format and the stated history.
Choose the download route that fits your task
| Route | Formats Chase documents | Covered period | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spending Planner on desktop | CSV; QFX (Quicken Web Connect); QIF (Quicken or Microsoft Money); QBO (QuickBooks Web Connect) | Last two years | Spreadsheets or importing into compatible finance and accounting software |
| Spending Planner on mobile | Last calendar year | A readable document for records or tax preparation | |
| Account Activity | Export format not specified in Chase’s reviewed personal instructions | Not specified | Viewing payment and deposit activity and transaction details |
Chase lists the Spending Planner formats and time ranges on its Spending Planner help page. It says customers with a Chase checking account or credit card can access Spending Planner on desktop or in the Chase Mobile app, as also described on its Spending Budget page.
Download transactions from Chase on desktop
- Sign in to Chase on a desktop browser and open Spending Planner.
- Choose the account and transaction period you need, within the last two years documented by Chase for desktop downloads.
- Select the format that fits your destination: CSV for a spreadsheet, QFX for Quicken Web Connect, QIF for Quicken or Microsoft Money, or QBO for QuickBooks Web Connect.
- Download the file, then open it in a spreadsheet or import it into compatible software.
Chase’s help page identifies the supported formats and history window, but does not establish that every third-party software version accepts every file. Check the destination program’s import instructions if a file is rejected.
Download transactions in the Chase Mobile app
- Sign in to the Chase Mobile app and open Spending Planner.
- Select the account and transactions you need.
- Use the PDF download option. Chase documents mobile transaction downloads for the last calendar year.
A PDF is suited to reading or keeping a record; if you need a spreadsheet or one of the listed finance-software formats, use desktop Spending Planner instead.

View transactions without downloading a file
To inspect account activity, sign in to Chase, select the account, and open Account Activity. Chase describes this view as showing payment and deposit information, balances, and details for checks and deposits. Its personal online-banking instructions explain the viewing route, but do not specify a general export control or CSV, QFX, QIF, or QBO download from Account Activity.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Personal accounts and business reporting are different
The formats and periods above apply to the personal Spending Planner instructions. Do not substitute limits from Chase’s business reporting tools: merchant-services reports concern transactions processed within the last six months, while a separate Commercial Online guide describes CSV downloads for commercial search results. Those are distinct business workflows, not evidence of additional personal-account export options.
