Choose a crypto exchange by testing the charting and order-entry tools in the exact interface, market, and region you plan to use. Charting features and order types are separate questions: an exchange may offer an order on its own platform but not through a connected TradingView workflow. Coinbase Advanced documents TradingView-powered charts and a broad set of order types, including TWAP; Kraken’s TradingView connection supports a narrower set than Kraken Pro itself.
Compare the tools in the interface where you will trade
Start with the specific trading screen, not a platform’s headline feature list. Check whether that interface combines the chart, order entry, order book, and depth information you need, and whether you can manage an order there after placing it.
Coinbase describes Advanced as offering interactive charts with TradingView functionality, chart types, indicators, drawing tools, an order book, a depth chart, live trade history, and order panels. Its documentation also describes persistent chart and order-form settings, with some settings limited to the browser or device. See Coinbase Advanced dashboard details.
Kraken advertises multiple timeframes and chart types, drawing tools such as Fibonacci, more than 100 indicators, and chart-based order placement on Kraken Pro. The indicator count is Kraken’s own product claim, not an independent measure of chart quality. See Kraken Pro charting features.

Compare order types separately from charting
List the orders you actually use, then confirm they are supported in your chosen interface and for the market you intend to trade. An order type available on an exchange may not be available through its connected charting service.
Coinbase Advanced
Coinbase’s order guide describes market, limit, take-profit/stop-loss, bracket, stop-limit, and TWAP orders. TWAP orders split a larger order into scheduled executions over a selected period; the guide describes setting a start time, duration, and limit price. Coinbase also describes GTC, GTD, and IOC instructions for limit orders. The available products, pairs, and features may vary by region, account, and market. Check Coinbase’s order-type guide.

- As a day trader, you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can decide when to work and when not to work.
- You only answer to yourself. That is the life of the successful day trader. Many people aspire to it, but very few succeed. Day trading is not gambling or an online poker game.
- To be successful at day trading you need the right tools and you need to be motivated, to work hard, and to persevere.
Kraken Pro and Kraken’s TradingView connection
Kraken’s guide says its TradingView connection supports market, limit, stop, and stop-limit orders, with GTC, IOC, and GTD time-in-force options. Post-only and reduce-only settings are also available, and the workflow can include optional take-profit and stop-loss exits. Kraken says trailing stop and conditional orders are not offered through the TradingView integration; use Kraken Pro directly for those order types. Review Kraken’s TradingView integration guide.
Understand execution controls and order risks
Order labels alone do not tell you how an instruction behaves. Before trading, check time in force, trigger conditions, post-only and reduce-only behavior, attached exits, partial fills, and how to modify or cancel an order.

- Market orders: Coinbase says these execute at the best available market price, but may fill in parts at several prices; execution at the displayed buy or sell price is not guaranteed.
- Limit orders: Check the price condition and expiration instruction. Coinbase documents GTC, GTD, and IOC options; Kraken documents the same three time-in-force options for its TradingView workflow.
- Stop and exit orders: Confirm what triggers the order and whether the resulting order is a market or limit order. Coinbase describes stop-limit orders as a stop price triggering a limit order. Kraken’s TradingView guide distinguishes its supported stop orders from trailing stop and conditional orders, which it directs users to place on Kraken Pro.
- Order management: Check whether you can preview, monitor, modify, and cancel orders from the chart or order panel you use. Kraken says supported chart orders can be managed in the TradingView interface, while account management remains on Kraken Pro.
Verify market, region, and account access
Do not assume that a chart or order feature is enabled for every user or trading pair. Kraken says its TradingView connection requires a verified account, available funds, and a supported region. Coinbase directs users to check the market pairs available in their country. Verify the current requirements and exact pair availability before opening or funding an account.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use a practical comparison checklist
- Choose your exact workflow. Identify the exchange interface you expect to use, including whether you plan to trade directly in the exchange or through a connected charting service.
- Check chart essentials. Confirm chart types, intervals, indicators, drawing tools, saved settings, and whether order-book and depth information are visible alongside the chart.
- Match your required orders. Compare your must-have order types against the documentation for that exact interface, not just the exchange brand.
- Inspect execution instructions. Confirm time in force, post-only or reduce-only settings, stop triggers, attached exits, and what happens to partial fills.
- Confirm availability. Verify your country, account status, specific asset pair, and any market-specific restrictions on the official pages.
- Check the full workflow. Find out where orders are previewed and managed, and where deposits, withdrawals, and account settings live.
Official product pages describe features, not independent tests of liquidity, execution quality, uptime, chart accuracy, or suitability. Fees, supported pairs, order availability, and regional rules can change, so confirm current details directly with the exchange before relying on a feature.
