The displayed Cash App Balance shows funds held in your account. Then open Activity to confirm whether recent deposits, payments, transfers, refunds, or withdrawals have completed.
That is different from calling Cash App. Cash App’s official materials direct users to the app or website for account information; its phone line is for customer support, not a documented automated balance lookup.
Check your Cash App balance in the mobile app
- Open Cash App on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Sign in if prompted, and confirm that you are using the correct phone number, email address, or account.
- Open the Money tab or tap the area showing your account balance. Cash App’s current guidance uses the Money tab for balance-related actions such as adding money and making paper-money deposits.
- Read the displayed Cash App Balance.
- Open Activity if you need to verify a recent transaction or investigate a balance that looks wrong.
Cash App can change the location or wording of controls between iPhone and Android, app versions, account types, and interface rollouts. If you do not see Money exactly as described, look for the account balance area or the section used to add money.
Cash App also says users can access account information and transaction history after signing in at cash.app/account.

Use Activity to confirm the balance
The balance alone may not explain why your available money changed. In Cash App, open Activity and select the relevant transaction. Check whether it is marked:
- Completed: The transaction has posted.
- Pending: Processing is not finished, so the amount may not yet be available.
- Failed, canceled, or reversed: The expected money may not have arrived or may have been returned.
- Refunded: A refund may still require processing before it appears as available.
Compare the transaction amount with the displayed balance. Cash App says transaction receipts are available in Activity, and account statements can be accessed through the app or website. A statement is more useful than a screenshot when you need a formal record.
Is your Cash App balance available to spend?
Not necessarily in every situation. Cash App distinguishes money held in the account from funds available for a particular payment. Its terms indicate that the following may not count as available funds:
- Money held in a separate Savings Balance.
- Transfers that have not yet been credited.
- Funds subject to a card authorization hold.
- Recently deposited money that is still processing.
A pending card purchase can temporarily reduce what you can use even if the transaction has not fully settled. Likewise, money moved to Savings is separate from the ordinary Cash App Balance. Check both the balance area and Activity before assuming that a missing amount is an error.

Checking your balance after adding money
Cash App may let eligible users add funds through a linked bank account or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, direct deposit, paper-money deposits, mobile check capture, or money received from another Cash App user. Availability depends on your account and the funding method.
After adding money, return to the Money section and then check Activity for the deposit status. Bank transfers generally take one to three business days when sent by the standard method, rather than arriving instantly.
For a paper-money deposit, Cash App says you start the process in the app by generating a barcode, or in some cases by swiping an active physical Cash App Card at a participating retailer. Where applicable, the deposit fee is deducted from the amount credited: a $10 deposit with a $1 fee would add $9 to the account. Review the fee shown in Cash App because fees and eligibility can vary by account and product.

What if Cash App will not open?
- Confirm that your phone has a working internet connection.
- Force-close Cash App and reopen it.
- Install any available update from the phone’s official app store.
- Restart the phone.
- Try signing in through Cash App’s official website at cash.app/account.
- If you still cannot access the account, use cash.app/help or in-app support.
Do not delete Cash App until you are confident that you can recover the account and receive its login verification code. Do not use a third-party balance checker, unofficial app, or search-result phone number. Cash App is not a dependable offline balance-lookup service, so wait for a secure connection if your phone has no internet access.
Can you check a Cash App balance by calling?
Cash App’s official terms identify 1-800-969-1940 as its only official customer-support phone number. Support can help with account access, transaction problems, disputes, and errors, but Cash App’s published materials do not document an automated telephone system that reads your balance. Do not assume that a phone representative will disclose the balance simply because you pass security questions.
The Cash App banking page displayed support hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time daily when checked, but hours can change. Confirm current availability at cash.app/bank or Cash App’s official help center.
Cash App says its representatives will not ask for your password, PIN, or full debit-card number. Anyone requesting those details, directing you to install remote-access software, or providing a different “support” number should be treated as a scam.

Why your Cash App balance may look wrong
A payment or transfer is pending
Open Activity and inspect the transaction status. A pending transfer or deposit may not yet be included in funds available for spending.
A deposit has not finished processing
Retailer deposits, bank transfers, direct deposits, mobile checks, and other funding methods can have different processing times. Confirm the deposit appears in Activity and check for a fee, review, or account notice.
You are viewing the wrong account
Verify the signed-in phone number or email address. If money was sent to a different $cashtag or account, it will not appear in the account you are viewing.
Money was moved to Savings
Check whether the amount is in Savings rather than the ordinary Cash App Balance. Savings funds are treated separately for available-payment purposes.

A card authorization hold reduced available funds
A merchant may place a temporary authorization hold before a card purchase settles. That hold can affect what is available even while the final transaction remains incomplete.
The transaction was failed, canceled, or reversed
Review the transaction details and any receipt or notification in Activity. A sender’s payment may not remain in the account if it failed, was canceled, or was reversed.
Your account is restricted or under review
Look for messages requesting verification or explaining a limitation. Contact Cash App through its official support channels rather than trying repeated deposits or transfers.
Can you check your Cash App balance without a bank account or Card?
Yes. You do not need a linked bank account or Cash App Card merely to view your balance in the app. Money received from another Cash App user can remain in your Cash App Balance. A card or linked account may be required for particular deposit, withdrawal, transfer, or protection features, depending on eligibility.
Can an ATM show your Cash App balance?
An ATM is not the normal way to check a Cash App balance. Cash App’s current fee disclosures list ATM balance inquiries as unavailable or not applicable. Use the app or the signed-in website instead.
Bottom line
Open Cash App, go to Money or the balance area, and read the Cash App Balance. If you are checking whether money is truly usable, review Activity and account notices for pending transactions, holds, separate Savings funds, fees, or processing delays. Calling 1-800-969-1940 is an account-support option—not a guaranteed automated balance checker.
