Which DoorDash purchases qualify?
Chase’s current public terms, accessed October 3, 2026, list two types of monthly DoorDash promotions for eligible Sapphire Reserve DashPass members:

These promotions reduce the order subtotal. Fees, taxes, and gratuity remain payable. The discount is not an automatic credit against any DoorDash charge. See Chase’s Sapphire Reserve benefit terms for the current offer details.
How to check and apply the offer
- Activate the eligible DashPass membership. Add your eligible Chase Sapphire card as the default payment method on DoorDash or Caviar, then activate the membership. Chase’s terms say activation must occur by December 31, 2027.
- Find the promotion in DoorDash. Check the promotion wallet, or look for the offer when the app or website prompts you during checkout. The offer must be available in your account.
- Choose the matching order type. Use the up-to-$5 promotion for a qualifying restaurant order, or one of the up-to-$10 promotions for a qualifying non-restaurant order. The two non-restaurant promotions require separate orders.
- Apply the promotion and inspect the total. Select the promotion or claim it when prompted. Before submitting the order, make sure the discount is shown against the subtotal.
- Pay directly with the enrolled Sapphire Reserve card. Chase requires the card used to enroll in the membership to be the payment method at checkout. The terms exclude third-party payment accounts and digital wallets for the membership offer.
Check exclusions, timing, and location
- Gift card purchases do not qualify. Alcohol is excluded in some states.
- Unused promotion value is forfeited; promotions do not roll over. Use each one by the end of its calendar month.
- The published terms state that the offer is valid in the United States.
- The terms list Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, and J.P. Morgan Reserve DashPass memberships. This article addresses the Sapphire Reserve offer; check your account and applicable card terms for the promotion available to you.
Why this is a checkout discount, not a general statement credit
The current public terms describe DoorDash promotions applied at checkout, not a blanket statement credit for any DoorDash purchase. A DashPass fee, gift card, restaurant order, grocery order, or other DoorDash transaction does not qualify automatically. Eligibility depends on activating the membership, having an available promotion, choosing the applicable order category, using the enrolled card, and meeting the offer’s other terms.
