To check GHO borrowing conditions on Aave, first select the exact network and market instance, then read its current borrow-rate field and utilization. For GHO minting capacity, check the relevant facilitator’s bucket headroom—not just the pool’s ordinary available-liquidity figure. GHO is minted through a facilitator, and collateral and account limits also affect what a borrower can mint.
Which Aave market should you check?
Start by recording both the network and the market instance, such as Ethereum Core or Ethereum Prime. Aave deployments can use different rate parameters and risk settings, so a rate or utilization figure from one instance does not describe another. GHO also has deployments beyond Ethereum; for example, LlamaRisk’s August 2026 analysis reports a distinct GHO reserve and rate-curve data for Aave V3 on Monad (LlamaRisk’s Monad interest-rate analysis).
Use a current market or protocol-data interface for live figures. Record the interface or data source and the time of your observation in UTC, since rates, utilization, and capacity can change.
How to check GHO borrow rates and utilization
- Select the market: choose the network and instance, and make sure the displayed asset is GHO.
- Read the rate field: note whether it is a user-facing variable borrow rate, APR or APY, or a base rate. A base rate is a model parameter and should not automatically be presented as the effective rate a borrower currently faces.
- Read utilization for that same market: compare it with that instance’s interest-rate curve and optimal utilization parameter. Utilization influences borrowing rates under the configured model; figures from different instances are not interchangeable.
- Timestamp the observation: record the network, instance, metric, units, source, and UTC time. If quoting a governance post instead of a live market reading, include its publication date and whether the change was proposed or executed.
As a historical example—not a current Ethereum reading—LlamaRisk reported GHO utilization of 79.1% on Aave V3 Monad at the time of its August 2026 report. It also gave a 60.6% average and a 40.0%–94.9% range over the report’s stated 30-day period. Those figures describe that Monad instance and period only.

Why ordinary pool liquidity does not show GHO minting capacity
GHO is minted through a facilitator rather than borrowed from an ordinary pool of previously supplied GHO reserves. A conventional reserve’s available-liquidity figure therefore does not, by itself, tell you how much GHO can be minted. Aave’s documentation explains that GHO minting is constrained by facilitator capacity and collateralization, rather than by ordinary available-liquidity restrictions (Aave GHO developer documentation).
For the relevant facilitator, check its bucket maximum and current bucket level. Aave’s documented calculation for remaining facilitator headroom is:

The documentation spells one field name with an apparent typo; use the actual contract or interface field labels when checking on-chain values. Bucket headroom is a protocol-level limit, not a promise that a particular account can borrow that amount. Eligible collateral and the borrower’s account-level borrowing constraints also matter.

GHO capacity can involve more than one mechanism, including the Aave V3 market facilitator and the Stability Module. When comparing a capacity or liquidity figure, identify which facilitator or source it describes (Aave facilitator documentation).
How to treat governance-posted rate changes
Governance posts describe proposals unless execution is established. TokenLogic’s October 2, 2026 post proposed raising the Ethereum Core GHO borrow rate from 4.25% to 4.50% APR and the Ethereum Prime base rate from 2.75% to 3.00% APR (GHO Stewards October 2026 rate update). These are dated proposal figures, not independently verified live rates or proof that the changes took effect. Check the current market display or contract state before describing a rate as effective.

What to record when comparing GHO borrowing conditions
A useful comparison keeps each figure tied to its precise market and meaning. Use the same observation time where possible, and keep proposal values separate from live readings.
