On iPhone, open Wallet, tap your Apple Cash card, tap More, then Add Money. Enter at least $10, tap Add, and authenticate. You’ll need an eligible debit or prepaid card already added to Wallet.
What you need before adding money
Apple Cash can be funded with a supported debit or prepaid card that you already use with Apple Pay in Wallet. Card eligibility can vary, and your card issuer may impose its own limits. If you don’t have an eligible card in Wallet, add one before starting the transfer. Apple’s instructions are at Add money to Apple Cash.

Apple Cash is available in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Apple says sending and receiving with an Apple Cash account requires you to be at least 18 and a U.S. resident. Under-18 users may participate through Apple Cash Family, though some features that require a supported payment card may not be available to them. Apple Cash services are provided by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC; Apple Payments Services LLC is a service provider of Green Dot Bank. See Apple Cash support for service details.
Add money on iPhone
- Open the Wallet app and tap your Apple Cash card.
- Tap More, then Add Money.
- Enter an amount of at least $10 and tap Add.
- Authenticate using the method available on your iPhone.
The money is added to your Apple Cash balance when the transaction completes. Your available card balance and issuer limits can affect whether a particular amount goes through.

Use another Apple device
Apple also provides device-specific instructions for iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro in its Apple Cash add-money guide. On iPad, the path is Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Apple Cash card > Add Money. Follow the prompts on your device to enter an amount and authenticate.

These are maximums, not recommended deposit amounts. Your available card balance or a limit set by the bank or card issuer may further constrain a transfer. Apple lists the limits in its add-money instructions.
Set up Auto Reload
If you regularly replenish Apple Cash, Apple’s Auto Reload option can add money when your balance reaches a threshold. Choose the amount to add and the minimum balance that triggers the reload. Apple says you can edit or cancel the setting; see the Apple Cash guide for the current setup steps on your device.

Apple Cash is not Apple Account balance
Apple Cash is the balance in Wallet used for Apple Cash features and Apple Pay purchases. Apple Account balance is separate and is used for Apple purchases such as apps and subscriptions. Adding money to Apple Account balance does not top up Apple Cash; Apple documents a different funding flow for that balance in Add money to your Apple Account balance.

If you can’t add money
- Confirm that the funding card is an eligible debit or prepaid card already in Wallet.
- Check that the amount meets the $10 minimum and stays within the applicable transaction and seven-day limits.
- Consider whether your bank or card issuer has imposed a lower limit or declined the transaction.
- If those checks don’t resolve it, consult Apple’s Apple Cash support overview for help with account restrictions or verification.
