How to Activate a Perx Card Online: Physical and Digital Card Steps

To activate a physical Perx card, sign in or create an account at perx.getmybalance.com, complete verification, and follow the activation prompt. A digital Perx card is set up in the Get My eCard app instead. Use the email address associated with the card and keep any verification details supplied by your employer or card program handy.

Activate a physical Perx card online

Perx says cardholders must register their card before using it. During registration, the portal checks the cardholder’s name and another identifying detail against information supplied by the program administrator.

1. Go to perx.getmybalance.com, the Perx cardholder portal.
2. If you have not used the portal before, choose Create Account and complete the requested details. Otherwise, sign in.
3. Complete the verification step. Perx’s physical-card guide describes multi-factor verification, with a code delivered through an available notification method.
4. If the portal says your card needs activation, choose the activation option and enter the requested information. This may be the email address, telephone number, or unique code your employer supplied for the card.
5. Follow the on-screen confirmation. Keep your card and registration details nearby in case the portal asks you to verify the cardholder information again.

If you do not know which email, phone number, or code to enter, ask your employer or program administrator for the details associated with your card.

Set up a digital Perx card

Digital cards use the Get My eCard app rather than the physical-card activation flow. Perx’s instructions require the app account to use the same email address to which the card was sent.

1. On a mobile device, open the notification from your card program.
2. Follow its link to install Get My eCard.
3. Sign in or create an account using the email address that received the card.
4. Enter the verification code, complete any requested account registration and accept the terms.
5. Follow the app’s instructions. The card should then appear in the app, where Perx says you can view card details and transaction activity and add the card to a mobile wallet.

Check 3D Secure before making an online purchase

Perx says online purchases require 3D Secure (3DS), an additional authentication step at checkout. Its published guidance differs on whether physical cards are enrolled automatically: the FAQ says they are, while the general cardholder instructions and activation guide tell cardholders to enable enrollment. Check the status for your card rather than assume it is ready.

1. For a physical card, sign in to the portal and open My Cards.
2. Choose View, then 3DS Enrollment.
3. Check the card’s current status and follow any enrollment or verification prompts.

Troubleshoot activation and online payment problems

• Your digital card does not appear: Check that you signed in to Get My eCard with the email address that received the card.
• Your physical card does not appear or registration fails: Confirm that the details you entered match the information held by the program administrator. Contact that administrator if you are unsure which information is on file.
• The portal asks for a verification or unlock code: Use the email address, phone number, or unique code supplied for your card. Ask your employer or program administrator if you were not given the requested detail.
• An online purchase is declined: Check whether 3DS is enabled and complete any checkout authentication prompt. Also check that the billing address matches your card registration and that the amount is within your available balance. A merchant’s card-processing support can affect acceptance.
• Your physical card works at some merchants but not others: Perx notes that some merchants do not process magstripe transactions, which can affect acceptance.
