To activate a GoProgram Way2Go card, follow the instructions included with that specific card and set a PIN through the channel they specify. The available channel and support number can vary by state program and card issuance, so do not rely on an old phone number found online. Use the official GoProgram site or the number printed on your card if you need help.
How to activate your Way2Go card
- Check the card materials. Read the instructions that came with the card and confirm they identify your state or payment program. Way2Go cards serve different state programs, so instructions and terms are not necessarily interchangeable.
- Choose the channel specified for your card. Depending on the program and card issuance, activation may be available through the official app, the GoProgram website, or a telephone number. Use the current instructions supplied with your card rather than assuming every card uses the same method. The official GoProgram site and its Contact Us page can help you find the relevant program support.
- Set a PIN when prompted. Selecting a PIN is part of activation under the cited Oklahoma and Alabama Comerica cardholder agreements. The requirement is documented in those state-specific agreements, not established as identical wording for every Way2Go card.
- Complete any remaining instructions. Sign the card if its materials direct you to, then use the official site or app to review account activity.
Which activation method and phone number should you use?
Use the instructions that came with your card first. Official materials show that channels differ: a legacy card carrier directs cardholders to the number in its instructions, while a state-specific mailer describes activation by app, website, or phone. These materials do not establish one current phone number or one activation route for every state and card generation. If you cannot activate the card, call the customer-service number printed on it or use GoProgram’s Contact Us page and select the matching program.
If the card is a replacement
Follow the replacement card’s own directions and select a PIN again if prompted. The official card carrier says replacement cards require PIN selection again and advises destroying the old card. Keep the old card secure until you have confirmed what the replacement instructions require.
If activation succeeds but the card has no funds
Activation and payment posting are separate. The official card carrier states, “Funds will be available on your card when your Payor posts a deposit to your account.” Check account activity through the official site or app; if an expected payment is missing, contact the state program that issues the payment or the card support channel for your program.

Protect your account and PIN
- Enter personal information only on the official GoProgram site or provide it through a phone number you have verified from the card or official program materials. GoProgram says it requests an SSN to verify identity and create an account.
- Do not provide or confirm your PIN in response to an unsolicited call, text, or email. State-specific card terms warn against providing a PIN by phone or website. Never follow a message link that asks for card credentials or a PIN.
- Use the official GoProgram channels or the number printed on your card when seeking help; do not use an unrelated activation site.
Check fees and cash-access terms for your card
Fees and other terms depend on the state program and card issuance. Review the fee schedule supplied with your card or ask official support rather than assuming a fee applies—or that a service is free—on every Way2Go card. ATM owners may charge a surcharge. The official ATM locator also notes that some merchants allow cash back with a purchase; check your card’s own terms for applicable conditions.

A 90-day activation condition appears in one Oklahoma card agreement, which says funds may be returned to the state if that card is not activated within 90 days. It is a state-specific term, not a universal deadline established for every Way2Go card. Check the agreement and instructions for your own card promptly.
