SunTrust online banking is now accessed through Truist. Go to Truist.com and select Sign in, or open the Truist Online Banking login page. Use your Truist online-banking credentials; there is no separate current SunTrust consumer-banking portal.
Sign in to your former SunTrust account
- Open Truist Online Banking, or go to Truist.com and use the Sign in area.
- Enter your User ID and Password, then select Sign in. On the homepage widget, the fields are labeled Enter User ID and Enter Password.
- If you want the browser to retain your ID, select Save user ID. Avoid doing this on a shared or public device.
The online-banking system transition from SunTrust to Truist took place during the weekend of February 19, 2022. The current login uses Truist branding and controls, rather than a separate SunTrust consumer-banking sign-in. Truist’s transition guide documents the change.
If you are new to Truist Online Banking
If you have not set up online access, choose Set up online banking from the Truist homepage login widget or Register now on the direct login page. Follow the on-screen registration steps to create or establish online access.
If you cannot sign in
If the login page says, “Your user ID or password is not recognized. Please try again,” use the recovery link that matches the problem: Forgot user ID? to reset your User ID, or Reset password to change your password. These controls are available on the current login page.

The login page also offers Sign in with QR code. Sign in with passkey may appear where enabled; the page provides a Learn more or enable passkey option. Availability depends on whether passkey sign-in is enabled for your access.
Former SunTrust customers signing in for the first time
Some customers who had not previously signed in to Truist Online Banking were directed through a one-time transition screen: they selected Sign in to SunTrust or Sign in to BB&T and entered their original-bank credentials to connect them to Truist. That historical first-sign-in workflow does not mean SunTrust still has a separate current banking portal. See Truist’s first-time sign-in guide for the transition process.

Use the mobile app or find account details
Mobile banking
Use the Truist mobile app and sign in with your online-banking username and password. Truist says its checking customers can use the app for money movement, Zelle, bill pay, and check deposits. See Truist checking for the current account and app information.
Routing and account numbers
After signing in, select the account you need, then choose View account details to see its routing and account numbers.

Order checks
After signing in, choose Order checks for a first-time order. For a repeat order, choose Order checks and supplies.

The 2022 transition also affected SunTrust Business Online users who used Direct Connect. Truist’s guide instructed those users to sign in to Truist Online Banking or create a Truist online-banking profile, then reestablish Direct Connect. For Quicken or QuickBooks, the documented transition included deactivating affected accounts and redirecting scheduled transfers from SunTrust to Truist.
