Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteEndorsements and business activity built around his golf fame—not tournament winnings alone—are the main explanation for Tiger Woods’s reported fortune. The often-cited $1.1 billion figure is a Forbes estimate reported by GOLF.com in 2023, not an audited or current personal balance sheet. Forbes had estimated Woods’s net worth at at least $1 billion in June 2022.
Is Tiger Woods really a billionaire?
Forbes estimated Woods’s net worth at at least $1 billion in June 2022. GOLF.com later reported Forbes’s estimate of $1.1 billion in 2023. These are estimates, not figures verified by a public accounting of Woods’s assets and liabilities. No current, audited 2026 net-worth figure is established by the available reporting.
The distinction matters: net worth is the value of assets minus liabilities at a particular point in time. It is not the same as all the money someone has earned over a career. Forbes said Woods had earned more than $1.7 billion over 27 years from salary, endorsements and other income; that cumulative career-income figure is not his net worth.
Where did Tiger Woods’s money come from?
Forbes’s 2022 estimate offers the clearest broad breakdown: it said less than 10% of Woods’s career earnings and net worth came from golf winnings. That proportion is Forbes’s estimate, not an audited accounting, but it makes the central point: endorsements and other income were the larger sources.

Endorsements built on golf fame
Woods’s success and visibility made him attractive to major brands. Forbes named Gatorade, Monster Energy, TaylorMade, Rolex and Nike among the brands associated with his endorsement income. This is a historical list, not a claim that all remain sponsors today.
Nike was a particularly prominent long-running partnership. The Associated Press reported that the relationship began in 1996, when Woods turned professional, and ended in January 2024. Contract values repeated in media coverage were not disclosed by Woods or Nike, so they should not be treated as confirmed payments.

Tournament winnings supplied a smaller share
Woods’s competitive record helped create the platform for endorsements and other opportunities, and he also earned substantial prize money. But the reported fortune is not simply the sum of tournament checks. GOLF.com reported that he had earned just under $121 million on the PGA Tour at the time of its report; that time-sensitive career-winnings figure is distinct from both his total career income and estimated net worth.
How do Woods’s businesses fit into the picture?
Woods’s current TGR portfolio spans several activities: TGR Foundation, which focuses on philanthropy; TGR Live, which produces events; TGR Design, which works on golf-course design; and The Woods, a hospitality business. Woods describes TGR as “my chapter two—my way of building a legacy that’s about more than birdies and bogies.”

These businesses show how his golf profile extends into design, events and hospitality, but TGR does not publish how much each contributes to Woods personally. The public descriptions do not establish his ownership percentages, the ventures’ valuations, or their returns. Their existence is evidence of business activity, not a basis for assigning a specific portion of the $1.1 billion estimate to them.
PopStroke illustrates the design side
In October 2019, TGR announced a strategic partnership with PopStroke, saying TGR Design would design putting courses at future locations. Woods called the partnership “a natural extension of my golf course design philosophy and my TGR Design business.” The announcement establishes the design relationship, but does not disclose Woods’s equity stake or personal proceeds.

What the published figures do—and do not—show
| Figure | What it measures | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| $1.1 billion | Reported estimate of Woods’s net worth | Forbes estimate as reported by GOLF.com in 2023; not an audited balance sheet. |
| At least $1 billion | Estimated net worth | Forbes estimate published in June 2022. |
| More than $1.7 billion | Accumulated career income from salary, endorsements and other income | Forbes’s estimate over 27 years, reported in 2022; not net worth. |
| $75.1 million | Woods’s 2023 earnings | Forbes figure reported by GOLF.com; annual earnings, not net worth. |
| Less than 10% | Estimated share of career earnings and net worth from golf winnings | Forbes’s 2022 estimate; not an independently audited breakdown. |
None of these figures reveals Woods’s current personal balance sheet or the exact contribution of any sponsor or private venture. The defensible explanation is the combination of high-profile endorsements, prize money and commercial opportunities built around his career—not a precise public accounting of how each dollar accumulated.
