CarsDirect reported on September 10, 2024, that the maximum was $17,100 on a 2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD: $16,100 in lease cash plus $1,000 in conquest cash for Tesla owners. The offer was regional and time-limited, so shoppers should not assume it is still available.
What made up the reported $17,100 discount?
CarsDirect reported the maximum lease discount as two incentives combined: $16,100 in lease cash and $1,000 in Tesla-owner conquest cash. The reported maximum applied to the 2024 EV6 GT-Line AWD; it was not a $17,100 discount for every 2024 EV6 trim or every customer. CarsDirect said the lease cash varied by region, and the extra conquest incentive was restricted to Tesla owners. CarsDirect’s September 10, 2024 report attributed the incentives to Kia dealer bulletins, which were not independently available in the cited material.
Was the 2024 Kia EV6 $17,000 off for everyone?
No. The figure was a reported maximum, dependent on the vehicle’s trim and drivetrain, the buyer’s Tesla ownership, and the region’s lease-cash amount. A shopper who did not qualify for the conquest cash, or whose local lease cash was lower, would not receive the full reported amount. Nor does the report establish that every participating dealer offered the same selling price or terms.
What did the $179-per-month example actually cost?
CarsDirect also cited a regional example of $179 per month for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. That was a dated lease example, not a current quote or a promise of what a buyer would pay. The article’s quoted figures should be evaluated together: monthly payments alone leave out the substantial amount due upfront and do not establish a lease’s full cost.

Before comparing that example with another lease, confirm the same vehicle and terms. Ask the dealer to show the agreed selling price, payment schedule, due-at-signing amount, taxes and fees, mileage allowance, and any incentive eligibility in writing. Add the upfront payment and all scheduled monthly payments to compare cash outlay, then account for any other charges specified in the lease. A lower monthly payment is not necessarily the lower-cost offer.
Was the 0% APR offer part of the $17,100?
No. CarsDirect separately reported a 0% APR financing offer for up to 72 months beginning September 4, 2024. That was a financing promotion, not an additional component of the lease discount. Compare a financing offer on its own terms—APR, term, vehicle selling price, and total amount paid—rather than adding it to lease incentives or treating the two offers as interchangeable.

Which 2024 EV6 was covered?
The reported maximum was for the GT-Line AWD, not the entire model range. Kia America’s October 2, 2023 dealer letter lists the 2024 lineup as including Light Long-Range RWD and AWD variants, continued Light RWD, and the GT. Kia listed the 2024 EV6 GT’s EPA range as 218 miles; that is a manufacturer model-year figure, not an incentive or a range estimate for every EV6. Can a current shopper still get this deal?
The reported promotion was time-bound in 2024, and it should not be treated as available now. Kia USA’s offers page showed 2026 EV6 promotions when accessed October 8, 2026, rather than an active 2024 offer. Offers can vary by location and change over time; check the current offers for your ZIP code and ask a dealer to confirm eligibility and terms before relying on a promotion. Does the 2025 EV6 federal tax-credit listing apply to a 2024?
It does not establish that it does. The IRS clean-vehicle-credit table released March 17, 2025, lists 2025 Kia EV6 models as eligible for a $7,500 credit; that listing is not evidence of eligibility for a 2024 model or a transaction made in 2024. Credit eligibility depends on the applicable vehicle and transaction details, so check the IRS rules for the specific model year and purchase or lease date rather than carrying a later-year listing backward. The IRS clean vehicle credit information provides the official guidance and eligible-vehicle listings.
