Sagent says early adopters of Dara, its enterprise mortgage-servicing platform, are seeing “3x to 4x efficiency.” That figure comes from CEO Sridhar Sharma in a sponsored HousingWire interview published October 13, 2026—not from an independently validated study. The sources do not define the efficiency measure, baseline, sample, period, or calculation, so the claim is best understood as Sagent’s reported result, not a proven industry benchmark.
What Sagent means by “3x to 4x efficiency”
In the sponsored interview, Sharma said Sagent was already seeing the result with some early adopters. He emphasized that he meant a multiple of efficiency, not a 30% to 40% increase. The interview does not explain what work was measured, how efficiency was calculated, which customers were included, or how results were compared with a baseline. Without those details or independent validation, the figure cannot establish how much time or money a typical servicer might save.
Sagent’s current homepage reports that Dara powers more than $3.2 trillion in “UBP,” services more than 16 million active loans, and processes more than $1.4 billion in monthly payments. These are company-reported scale figures, accessed October 13, 2026; they do not validate the separate efficiency claim. Sagent’s homepage
What Dara does
Dara is Sagent’s enterprise software platform for mortgage servicing—not a consumer loan or a physical product. Sagent describes it as a connected servicing environment that combines operational capabilities, data, workflows, and interactions. Its stated scope spans loan administration, payment management, escrow, investor management, customer service, collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, real estate owned (REO), litigation, workflow, documents, intelligence, and compliance.

The company’s central proposition is that servicers can bring work now spread across disconnected systems into a shared operating environment. Sagent says Dara is intended to connect staff and borrower data, coordinate work across teams, and let borrowers, attorneys, vendors, and other third parties interact through portals and integrations. The company also says APIs and integrations can connect external tools. These are product descriptions and intended benefits, not independently measured outcomes. Sagent
How Sagent says Dara can improve productivity
Connected operations and workflows
Sharma describes the platform’s goal as one connected system across the servicing lifecycle. The underlying productivity argument is that shared data and orchestrated workflows may reduce handoffs and the maintenance burden of operating disconnected tools. Whether that translates into faster work depends on a servicer’s current systems, implementation, processes, and the amount of work moved onto the platform.

AI-assisted automation with customer context
Sharma says Dara was built with AI in mind and supports customers bringing their own AI agents through an MCP layer. He also says AI needs customer context and operating guardrails. That framing matters in mortgage servicing, where automated actions need to be governed and traceable; the interview describes Sagent’s approach but does not provide independent evidence of accuracy or productivity gains from AI.

Sagent says compliance is built into the platform and that operators can adapt it as requirements change. Sharma says activity in Dara is audited whether performed by AI or manually, giving operators traceability. He also says Dara can ingest a regulatory document and identify affected functions. These are company and CEO claims; the reviewed material does not independently verify compliance outcomes, the completeness of audit records, or how well the regulatory-change process works in practice.

Borrower and partner interactions
Sagent presents smoother experiences as another efficiency lever: a connected ecosystem can let homeowners and outside participants interact with the servicing operation through portals and integrations. Fewer disconnected interactions may reduce friction, but the available material does not quantify effects on call volume, resolution time, borrower satisfaction, or operating cost.
What the “days, not months” claim establishes
Sharma says that after Dara identifies functions affected by a new regulatory document, operators can make changes in days rather than months, “if not much faster.” The interview does not supply examples, a measured comparison, or implementation details. Treat this as Sagent’s description of its capabilities, not a general guarantee that regulatory updates or platform changes will take a particular amount of time.

What a mortgage servicer should evaluate
The interview is about one vendor and does not independently compare Dara with competing platforms. A servicer assessing any platform should request evidence tied to its own operating environment, including:

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Which legacy systems and third-party tools can be integrated, and what work remains outside the platform.
- How much of the servicing lifecycle and each team’s workflow the platform supports.
- What audit records are available for manual and automated actions, and how AI controls are configured.
- Migration scope, implementation effort, and the operational disruption expected during transition.
- Borrower-facing capabilities and how outcomes such as resolution time or service quality are measured.
- Productivity and cost results with a clear baseline, sample, time period, calculation, and independent validation where available.
Those measures help distinguish platform scale or capability claims from demonstrated gains for a particular servicer. Sagent’s reported loan and payment volumes may indicate the scale at which its platform operates, but they do not answer whether Dara will produce a specific efficiency improvement for a prospective customer.
