Creating or publishing a Roblox game does not earn you a fixed amount of Robux. You can earn Robux through qualifying sales and platform programs, but the amount depends on eligible player activity, purchases, your monetization choices, and Roblox’s rules. Roblox does not state a typical payout for a new game.
For one specific example, creators receive 70% of Robux spent on their own in-game passes. Turning eligible Earned Robux into cash is a separate step: Roblox’s standard DevEx rate is $0.0038 per Earned Robux, with a 30,000 Earned Robux minimum—$114 at that rate. Neither figure predicts what a game will earn.
What determines how much Robux a game earns?
Roblox calls games “experiences.” Simply creating or publishing an experience does not trigger an automatic Robux payment. Earnings come from eligible transactions or qualifying platform programs, and may be affected by player reach, purchase behavior, eligibility rules, and review. Roblox describes monetization routes but does not promise a set or typical payout for a new experience. Roblox’s monetization overview and creator income overview explain the available routes.
Roblox has reported portfolio-wide creator earnings, but those figures are not forecasts for an individual game. Its overview says that more than 35,000 creators participated in DevEx and reports a $1,550 median creator receipt for the twelve months ended December 31, 2025; it also reports that the top 1,000 creators averaged $1.3 million in 2025. These are Roblox-reported figures across creators, not the expected earnings of a new experience.

How creators can earn Robux from an experience
Different monetization methods have different purchase patterns and conditions. The share stated for one product should not be applied to every route.
| Method | How it works | What Roblox says about the creator’s earnings |
|---|---|---|
| Passes | A player buys a pass once for a special privilege or feature. | Roblox says the creator earns 70% of Robux spent on their own in-game passes. Details. |
| Developer products | Players can buy these items or benefits repeatedly. | Roblox describes developer products as a monetization option; do not assume the pass-specific 70% figure applies to every product or earning route. Details. |
| Subscriptions | Players pay a recurring fee for benefits. | Roblox documents local-currency subscription payments and a 30-day hold before associated Robux is added to a creator’s balance after delivery of the full term. Details. |
| Creator Rewards | Qualifying player engagement and audience expansion can earn awards under program rules. | The daily engagement award is 5 Robux only when the conditions are met; it is not paid for every player or visit. Creator Awards have a 60-day holding period. Details. |
| Paid access | A creator charges a one-time Robux fee to enter an experience. | Roblox documents a price range of 25–1,000 Robux and account and verification conditions. Charging can limit how many users join. Details. |
| Immersive ads | Creators may earn through engagement with eligible ad formats. | Roblox describes revenue sharing, but the cited overview establishes no universal per-view payout. Check the applicable terms rather than assuming a fixed rate. Overview. |
| Robux transfers | Where the feature is supported, eligible Roblox Plus subscribers can transfer Robux through an experience. | The experience earns 10% of a transfer and the recipient gets 90%; each transaction must be between 10 and 500 Robux. Transfer rules and Roblox Plus details. |
When engagement can earn without a purchase
Creator Rewards include a daily engagement award of 5 Robux when a qualifying Active Spender plays an eligible experience for at least 10 minutes, subject to daily ordering limits and the program’s other rules. This is a conditional award, not a payment for each visit or each player. Audience expansion rewards have separate eligibility requirements, including an ID-verified account in good standing and a valid DevEx account. Roblox’s Creator Rewards rules describe the conditions and holding period.

Other creator-economy income is different from game visits
Roblox also describes Creator Store sales and avatar-item sales. These are separate from what an experience earns through ordinary player visits, and the rules vary by product and where it is sold. Roblox says Creator Store sales with real-world pricing return 100% of net proceeds. That is not a general share for all creator sales. Roblox’s creator income overview summarizes these routes.
How much is Earned Robux worth in cash?
Robux in an account balance is not automatically eligible for cash-out. Roblox’s DevEx program applies to eligible Earned Robux, and the standard rate stated in its documentation is $0.0038 per Earned Robux. At that rate, 30,000 Earned Robux converts to $114 USD before individual taxes or other considerations. This is a conversion calculation, not an estimate of game revenue.

The DevEx minimum request is 30,000 Earned Robux. Roblox also requires participants to be at least 13, have a Roblox-verified email address, a valid DevEx portal account, required tax forms, and an account that remains compliant. Roblox says the dashboard amount is an estimate and does not guarantee that all displayed Earned Robux qualifies. Check the current DevEx rate and requirements.
Some eligible purchases by U.S. players who have verified they are at least 18 may qualify for a $0.0054-per-Earned-Robux rate in qualifying experiences. Roblox lists eligible purchase types including developer products, passes, subscriptions, and private servers. This is a limited rate with player, transaction, and experience conditions—not the standard rate for every creator or every Robux balance. Read the U.S. 18+ rate conditions.

Roblox says Earned Robux excludes directly purchased Robux, subscription grants, gifts, and several other sources, and that it retains discretion over eligibility. It also says balances earned before September 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. Pacific use the former $0.0035 rate until those older balances have been cashed out. That legacy rule applies to older balances, not new earnings at the current standard rate. DevEx documentation.

- Choose a monetization route. Decide whether your experience will offer one-time passes, repeatable developer products, subscriptions, paid access, qualifying engagement rewards, or another eligible option.
- Track the relevant activity. For sales, use actual eligible purchases and the applicable product rules. For Creator Rewards, use the program’s qualifying engagement and audience criteria—not raw visits.
- Separate Robux earned from cash-out eligibility. Do not treat the total account balance as Earned Robux, or assume the dashboard estimate guarantees DevEx eligibility.
- Apply the correct rate only at the cash-out stage. Use the standard DevEx rate unless the specific transactions and experience meet the conditions for a limited alternative rate.
Rates, reward criteria, and account requirements can change. Use Roblox’s current monetization guidance, Creator Rewards rules, and DevEx requirements when planning.
