The Premier League’s published 2024/25 figures show central payments ranging from £109.2 million for Southampton to £174.9 million for champions Liverpool. These amounts are league distributions from broadcast and central commercial revenue—not each club’s total revenue, profit or transfer budget. The distinction matters: “money earned” is often used loosely, but the official table measures central payments.
Premier League central payments by club in 2024/25
The Premier League published these totals on 1 July 2025. Clubs are listed by their final 2024/25 league position; payment amounts are in pounds and rounded to one decimal place as published. Premier League announcement and its 2024/25 Annual Report provide the official figures.

Why payments do not follow the league table exactly
The figures are not a simple prize-money ladder. The Premier League’s distribution table combines equal and merit-related payments, facility fees, UK and international broadcast components, and central commercial payments. Merit-related sums reflect final position, while televised-match-related components vary with coverage. As a result, a club finishing lower can receive more centrally than one above it: Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Tottenham each exceeded some clubs with better final positions.
The league also said it committed more than £550 million to the wider game in 2024/25. That is a separate league-level support figure, not an additional payment to each of the 20 clubs in the table.

Central payments are only part of club revenue
Deloitte’s 2026 Annual Review of Football Finance, published 8 July 2026, estimated that Premier League clubs generated £6.8 billion in aggregate revenue in 2024/25, up 8% (£490 million) from £6.3 billion in 2023/24. Deloitte estimated aggregate broadcast revenue at £3.4 billion, commercial revenue at £2.4 billion and matchday revenue at more than £1 billion. Those are league-wide totals, not a revenue breakdown for any one club.
Central league distributions form one part of club income. Clubs also earn their own commercial and matchday income, and their accounts include other items. A club’s total revenue for a particular accounting period is therefore a different measure from the Premier League payment figure for the season.

Revenue is not profit
Large central payments do not show whether a club made money after expenses. Deloitte estimated aggregate Premier League operating profit of £263 million in 2024/25, down £274 million, while aggregate pre-tax losses were £948 million and wages totaled £4.4 billion. These are aggregate figures across the league, not results for each club; they illustrate why revenue or central distributions should not be described as profit.
