There is no substantiated public figure showing how much money Howie Mandel lost after leaving Deal or No Deal. The question assumes a financial loss that available reporting does not establish. Mandel has instead described accepting the hosting job as a turning point in a career that had been struggling.
What Mandel has said about his career before the show
In a 2020 Esquire interview, Mandel recalled that his career had “ebbed”: he was not selling many stand-up tickets and was not appearing on television. He described Deal or No Deal as a “catapult” for his career. Those comments describe his experience, not his earnings or a before-and-after balance sheet.

In a later interview on The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda, Mandel said that his career was in a poor place in 2005 and that he was considering other directions. He initially turned down the game-show offer, then reconsidered after his wife urged him to accept. Looking back, he said, “as it turned out, it was a positive and it turned around.” The account supports a career-turnaround narrative, but does not quantify its financial effect.
Leaving the original series did not establish a financial loss
The original NBC series ran from 2005 to 2009, according to TheWrap’s 2018 report on CNBC’s revival announcement. Mandel returned as host and executive producer for that revival. The end of the original run, and the gap before the revival, do not show that he lost income, saw his net worth fall, or permanently left the franchise.

In a 2007 Larry King Live interview, Mandel said the show had “Changed it” when asked what it had done to his life. That was a comment about the show’s effect on him, not a disclosure of his salary or personal finances. Contestants’ decisions about accepting or declining prize money are separate from Mandel’s compensation.

A 2019 CBS Los Angeles interview documented Mandel discussing hundreds of live performances a year, a stand-up special, and a comedy-club project. Those details show that he continued working in entertainment; they do not reveal his total income or how it compared with his earnings during the show.

NBC’s official biography identifies his 2009 memoir, Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me. It may provide career context, but the available information does not establish it as a source for a calculation of post-show financial losses.
