Is PBS MASTERPIECE included with Amazon Prime?
No. PBS describes PBS MASTERPIECE as an Amazon channel subscription accessed through Amazon’s site or app. Its monthly channel fee is separate from any Amazon platform membership charge. Check Amazon’s current account and Prime Video requirements during checkout rather than assuming that a Prime membership includes the channel. PBS’s Amazon channel information and its cost and access guidance explain the distinction.
How it differs from PBS Passport and free PBS viewing
| Option | Cost or payment basis | Access | Where to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| PBS MASTERPIECE channel | $5.99/month in the U.S.; $6.99 CAD/month in Canada, per PBS Distribution’s service page accessed October 8, 2026. | Drama catalogue offered through the channel; individual title availability can change. | Amazon’s site or app. |
| PBS Passport | A benefit offered through a donation to a participating local PBS station; the amount is set by the station. | Separate PBS access. An Amazon channel subscription does not unlock Passport videos or Passport-exclusive titles. | PBS.org or the PBS app. |
| Free PBS streaming | No additional subscription charge for eligible free viewing. | Many new episodes of popular dramas and favorites are available for a limited time; this is not the full paid channel catalogue. | PBS’s free streaming options. |
