1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIn Nigeria in 2026, an iPhone XR typically costs about ₦100,000–₦330,000, depending on storage, condition and seller. The lower end is mainly for privately sold or open-market used phones; online renewed listings can cost around ₦300,000 or more. Treat those figures as indicative asking prices, not a fixed national price. The XR supports iOS 18 and received iOS 18 security updates in 2026, but it is not compatible with iOS 26.
iPhone XR prices in Nigeria by storage and condition
The XR was introduced in 2018 and is now generally sold as a used or refurbished device. Nigerian price guides and marketplace listings show a wide spread, so check the exact handset rather than relying on one advertised figure.
| Storage | Private or open-market used | Cleaner or warrantied used | Observed online renewed prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| 64GB | About ₦100,000–₦150,000 | About ₦150,000–₦220,000 | ₦299,999 and ₦328,999 on observed Konga listings |
| 128GB | About ₦140,000–₦180,000 | About ₦180,000–₦250,000 | ₦304,290 on an observed Jumia listing |
| 256GB | Indicative estimate: about ₦180,000–₦300,000+ | Varies substantially by condition and seller | Availability and price not established in the observed listings |
The 64GB and 128GB private-market bands are consistent with a June 2026 Nigerian guide, which reported ₦100,000–₦140,000 for 64GB and ₦140,000–₦180,000 for 128GB UK-used phones. The 256GB range is an estimate, not a verified national average. Kara’s June 2026 price guide
The renewed figures are asking prices seen on marketplace pages, not evidence of completed sales or a standard for every unit. The observed Konga 64GB listings were ₦299,999 and ₦328,999; Jumia displayed ₦304,290 for a 128GB renewed listing. Marketplace price, delivery, seller and return terms can differ.

Why iPhone XR prices differ
Condition and repair history
A phone with a sound screen, working Face ID, no major damage and a healthy battery is worth more than one needing repairs. A replaced screen, weak battery, damaged back glass or uncertain repair history should affect the price. Ask what was repaired and which parts were used.
What the seller means by “UK used” or “renewed”
- UK used or foreign used: usually means a previously owned imported phone. The label does not prove original parts, good battery health, working Face ID, an unlocked network status or freedom from water damage.
- Nigerian used: a phone previously used locally. Its condition depends on that individual device, not where it was used.
- Renewed or refurbished: an imprecise seller term. It might mean professional testing and repair, a replacement battery or screen, repackaging, or simply cleaning and reselling. It does not by itself mean Apple-certified refurbished.
For a renewed phone, ask who refurbished it, which parts were replaced, whether the battery is genuine or aftermarket, whether Face ID is guaranteed, and what written return period or warranty applies. The observed Konga page stated a seven-day return policy, but warranty information was not clear for the item; confirm the terms with the seller before paying. Konga listing

Seller, location and sale terms
Prices can vary between cities, online marketplaces and in-person dealers, as well as with seller reputation, delivery costs, return rights and exchange-rate movement. A marketplace listing is a reference point, not a guaranteed street price or proof of what a phone actually sells for.
Which storage capacity should you choose?
- 64GB: the lower-cost choice for light use, especially if you mainly stream rather than keep large libraries of photos, videos and downloads on the phone.
- 128GB: the practical middle ground for many buyers. Choose it if the price difference is reasonable and the handset is otherwise as good as the 64GB alternative.
- 256GB: suits heavier photography, video, downloads or offline media. Since fewer examples may be listed, inspect the exact device and compare its premium with newer-phone options.
Storage alone should not decide the purchase: a clean 64GB phone may be better value than a damaged or poorly repaired 128GB unit.

Is the iPhone XR still worth buying?
The XR has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD LCD, A12 Bionic chip, 12MP wide rear camera, 7MP TrueDepth front camera, Face ID and 4G LTE. It uses Lightning for wired charging and supports Qi wireless charging. Apple lists 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. These features can still suit calls, messaging, social apps, streaming and everyday photography. Apple’s iPhone XR technical specifications
On software, the XR is compatible with iOS 18 and appeared among devices receiving iOS 18.7.x security releases in 2026. It is not on Apple’s iOS 26-compatible iPhone list, which includes iPhone 11 and newer models among that generation of phones. Do not buy the XR expecting iOS 26 or the same remaining support horizon as an iPhone 11. Apple iOS compatibility information · Apple security releases · Apple iOS 26 compatibility list

Consider an iPhone 11 or newer if support matters more
The iPhone 11 is a more durable long-term choice if you want a model on the iOS 26 compatibility list. Compare the actual Nigerian price gap and condition, though: a clean XR can make sense as a short-term budget purchase if it is substantially cheaper, its battery is sound and you only need basic apps.
Consider Android if hardware value is the priority
At a similar budget, an Android alternative may offer a newer battery, USB-C, more storage or 5G, depending on the model. The XR may suit you better if you already use Apple devices, want iOS integration or prefer Face ID. Compare the specific handset and local price rather than assuming one platform is always the better deal.

How to inspect an iPhone XR before paying
Test the actual phone in person where possible. Do not rely on a seller’s description, packaging or screenshots alone.
- Check Activation Lock: ask the seller to remove the phone from their Apple Account. With the seller present, use Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Erase All Content and Settings, then begin setup. Do not complete the purchase if setup asks for the previous owner’s Apple Account credentials.
- Check battery condition: open Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. As a practical buyer benchmark, 85% or higher is preferable; 80–84% calls for negotiation, and below 80% means you should budget for replacement. Look for a service warning or an important battery message as well as the percentage.
- Test Face ID: unlock the phone and, if practical, enroll Face ID during inspection. A working selfie camera does not prove that Face ID works; TrueDepth damage or repair can disable it.
- Inspect the display: test touch across the full panel, brightness and colour uniformity. Look for dead pixels, tint, lifting or gaps. Missing True Tone can be a clue that a screen was replaced, but is not conclusive proof on its own.
- Test cameras, sound and microphones: check rear-camera focus, Portrait mode, flash, front camera and video recording. Record a short clip and play it back to check microphone and speaker output.
- Test your SIM and wireless connections: where possible, use your own SIM to check calls, SMS, mobile data and LTE. Also test Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and hotspot. The XR supports a physical nano-SIM and eSIM, but eSIM availability depends on region and carrier; ask the seller to identify the model and demonstrate the network features you need.
- Check device identity: open Settings → General → About and note the IMEI, model number and storage. Check for an applicable carrier restriction and confirm that the phone works on your network. A supplied box can be swapped, so it is not proof that its IMEI belongs to the handset.
- Check charging and physical condition: test Lightning charging for a stable connection, along with speakers and microphones. Inspect the camera glass, rear glass, frame, screws and screen edges for impact, bending, gaps or signs of replacement housing.
- Ask for repair and ownership details: request disclosure of screen, battery or other repairs and confirm the seller can complete the reset and transfer. Agree on any return period and warranty in writing before payment.
Apple originally rated the XR IP67 for water and dust resistance under specified laboratory conditions. That is not a reason to expose an older or repaired used phone to water; age or repairs may affect its resistance. Apple’s technical specifications
Red flags and how to negotiate
A very low price is a reason for closer inspection, not automatic proof that a phone is fake. Prices below ₦150,000 have been described as a red flag in one guide, but open-market prices vary, so use the device’s condition and comparable listings rather than a single cutoff. A separate claim of ₦35,000 is sharply at odds with other 2026 guides and marketplace listings; treat it as unverified and consider whether a listing at that level is damaged, locked, incomplete or otherwise not comparable. Kara’s alternative 2026 guide · The Famous Naija price claim
- Walk away if the seller refuses to erase the phone or it remains linked to another Apple Account.
- Do not pay as if Face ID works when it is unavailable or cannot be enrolled.
- Negotiate for battery health below 85%, disclosed screen replacement, cracked back glass, charging problems or cosmetic damage.
- Ask for a meaningful discount if repair history, IMEI status or return terms are unclear.
- Be cautious of “brand new” claims for this discontinued model unless the seller can establish the stock’s provenance and warranty.
- Do not pay before inspection under pressure, and do not treat a box or “UK used” label as proof of originality.
Compare the purchase price plus any likely battery or repair expense with the cost of a cleaner XR or an iPhone 11. No current Nigerian repair prices are established here, so obtain a quote before committing if the phone needs work.
Quick Recap
Buy, negotiate or skip?
Buy when
- The asking price fits the phone’s storage and condition.
- Activation Lock is cleared, Face ID works, and battery condition is acceptable or reflected in the price.
- The seller discloses repairs and offers a credible inspection or return opportunity.
Negotiate when
- Battery health is below 85%, the phone has cosmetic damage, or a replacement part is disclosed.
- The seller offers no return period or cannot clearly document repair history.
- A repair or battery replacement would make the total cost close to a better-condition XR or iPhone 11.
Skip when
- The phone is Activation Locked, has a problematic IMEI or network restriction you cannot resolve, or has serious damage.
- Face ID does not work and the seller will not price that fault into the deal.
- The price approaches that of a cleaner iPhone 11, especially if you want longer software support.
