Reports most often place it during new-driver onboarding, especially when submitting bank information, although it can also appear during registration more generally. Treat it as an onboarding or account-workflow failure—not automatic proof that your bank account, phone, or app is defective.
The safest approach is to document the error, check for unfinished registration instructions, perform a limited set of app and connection tests, and then contact Amazon Flex Driver Support if the code persists.
What does Amazon Flex error AM-01 mean?
Users commonly see a message similar to Support Code: AM-01, please exit and try again.
Wording and capitalization can vary by country, translation, and app version.
Amazon does not appear to provide a public code reference defining AM-01. A driver-community report documented the code during signup and bank-detail entry (Reddit report). A December 2025 Brazilian complaint described the same code while completing registration, even after reinstalling and restarting the app (Brazilian complaint). Secondary coverage also says the code lacks a published official explanation (Sihmar summary).

That evidence supports an association with onboarding, not a confirmed diagnosis. AM-01 does not by itself establish that your bank information is invalid, that you are banned, or that Amazon Flex is experiencing a general outage.
When does AM-01 appear?
- During initial Flex registration or after an invitation or welcome email.
- When entering or submitting bank information.
- While completing training, identity, document, or other onboarding steps.
- When the account and app are out of sync, including in country-specific registration flows.
Bank submission is the most frequently reported trigger in older public discussions, while the Brazilian report shows that the same-looking code can occur during broader registration. The exact trigger for an individual account can be confirmed only by Amazon Flex Support.
Try these steps in order
1. Preserve the details before changing anything
Take a screenshot of the code and note the date, time zone, exact screen, and action that produced it. Record your country or region, phone model, operating-system version, and Flex app version. Redact account numbers, routing numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s-license information, addresses, and other sensitive data before sharing a screenshot.
2. Check the registration email
Search the email address used for Flex for welcome, verification, document, or “complete your registration” messages. Follow any action-required link and check spam, junk, promotions, and filtered folders. One reported user received an onboarding email while the app continued to show AM-01 (case report).

- Sign out of Amazon Flex.
- Fully close the app; use your phone’s Force stop option if available.
- Reopen the app and sign in to the same account.
A clean session can remove a local app-state problem, but it cannot repair an account record or a server-side onboarding status.

4. Test the connection
Switch once between Wi-Fi and cellular data. Temporarily disable a VPN, private DNS, ad-blocking network filter, or restricted corporate/public Wi-Fi. This is a diagnostic test, not evidence that AM-01 is definitely a network error.
5. Update the supported software
Install the current Amazon Flex app through Amazon’s official download route or the supported app store for your region. Update the phone’s operating system if an update is available, then restart the phone. Do not install APKs or modified versions from unofficial sources.
6. Test one other compatible phone, if available
Sign in with the same Flex account on another supported device. Do not create a second account to bypass the error. If AM-01 occurs only on one phone, a device or session issue is more plausible; if it occurs on multiple phones and networks, an account, onboarding, or service-side issue becomes more plausible. Neither result proves the underlying cause.

After checking email, restarting the session, testing a connection, updating the app, and (if practical) testing another device, make one further attempt. Repeatedly submitting the same form can create uncertainty about whether financial information was saved and rarely resolves a backend onboarding problem. Persistent AM-01 should be escalated.
If AM-01 appears after bank details
Verify the account and routing information once, and confirm that the account belongs to the person completing registration where the applicable regional rules require that. Do not assume the account was rejected merely because the error appeared after tapping Submit.

Avoid repeatedly replacing the bank account; changes can complicate support review. Ask Flex Support whether the submission was received, whether validation failed, or whether the account is stuck at an onboarding stage. Amazon Pay’s bank-account help concerns Amazon Pay and Seller Central disbursements, not necessarily Flex onboarding (Amazon Pay help), so it is not a substitute for Flex guidance.
When to contact Amazon Flex Driver Support
Escalate when any of these applies:
- AM-01 remains after the limited checks above.
- The same code appears on a second compatible device or network.
- It returns every time at the same onboarding step.
- Your account appears invited or approved, but registration cannot be completed.
- You cannot tell whether bank information was saved.
- A prior response gave generic reinstall advice without addressing AM-01.
Use Driver Support in the Amazon Flex app. Official Flex training material directs drivers to call Driver Support through the app (official training document).
The Flex download page retrieved for the United States lists 888-281-6906, daily, 5:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Pacific Time (official download page). Numbers and hours can change, and that contact is not automatically global; verify current details in the app or on your country’s official Flex site before calling.

Send financial and identity information only through Amazon’s authenticated support process. Never post full bank credentials or identity documents publicly, and do not pay an unofficial service claiming it can “activate” your account.

What persistent AM-01 may require
If the code survives different sessions, networks, and devices, the app may be unable to progress an account-level onboarding record. Support may need to verify the invitation stage, onboarding completion status, receipt of bank information, identity or duplicate-account conflicts, and whether the delivery region is accepting new drivers. Public sources do not establish a standard resolution time, so do not rely on promises of a particular wait period.

Amazon’s U.S. recruitment page describes Flex drivers as independent contractors and lists U.S.-specific requirements including age 21 or older, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and a midsize or larger vehicle (Amazon Flex recruitment). Those requirements and regional availability can change and should not be treated as a diagnosis of AM-01.

Is AM-01 an Amazon Flex ban?
No public evidence establishes that interpretation. The code is reported during onboarding and does not by itself indicate deactivation.
Does AM-01 prove my bank account is invalid?
No. Bank submission is a reported trigger, but Amazon has not publicly defined AM-01 as a bank rejection.
Should I contact Amazon Pay about this error?
Usually not. Amazon Pay’s bank instructions concern a separate service; use Amazon Flex Driver Support for a Flex onboarding error.
