That is the license price, not a universal total for every fishing trip: species, location and fishing method may require a separate tag or endorsement.
Oregon nonresident fishing license prices for 2026
ODFW’s 2026 recreational fee schedule lists these nonresident options. The listed costs include the agent fee. “Angling” is the agency’s term for fishing.
| License or item | 2026 nonresident fee | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Annual angling license | $138 | Annual fishing license; required tags or endorsements may cost extra. |
| One-day angling and shellfish license | $29 | One day; the listed option combines angling and shellfish. |
| Two-day angling license | $48 | Two days of angling. |
| Three-day angling license | $68 | Three days of angling. |
| Seven-day angling license | $117 | Seven days of angling. |
| Annual combined angling tag | $89 | Separate tag required to fish for salmon, steelhead or sturgeon, including catch-and-release. |
| Annual Ocean Endorsement | $9 | For specified ocean fishing; exceptions apply. |
| Daily Ocean Endorsement | $4 | For specified ocean fishing for one day; exceptions apply. |
The license and duration fees are from ODFW’s recreational fee schedule, corroborated by its 2026 Sport Fishing Regulations. Ocean Endorsement fees and scope are on ODFW’s Ocean Endorsement page. The schedule also lists future fee columns; the amounts above are specifically the 2026 fees.
Which license length makes sense?
Compare the short-term options with the annual license based on how long you will fish. The $117 seven-day option is $21 less than the $138 annual license, while the $29 one-day option may suit a brief visit. These are base license comparisons, not comparisons of complete trip costs; required tags and endorsements depend on the trip.

What can add to the license cost?
Salmon, steelhead and sturgeon
ODFW requires a separate annual Combined Angling Tag, listed at $89 for nonresidents in 2026, to fish for salmon, steelhead or sturgeon. The requirement applies even if you intend to release your catch. Other conditional items include the Columbia River Basin Endorsement for salmon or steelhead fishing within the basin, a Two Rod Validation for using two rods in most lakes, ponds and reservoirs, and a Hatchery Harvest Card for additional hatchery salmon and steelhead harvest. Check the rules for your specific water and activity in ODFW’s 2026 regulations.
Ocean fishing
Beginning January 1, 2026, ODFW requires an Ocean Endorsement for specified recreational ocean fishing from beaches, jetties or boats, and for spearfishing. It is not required if you are taking only shellfish or fishing for and retaining only salmon or steelhead. If you retain another marine finfish, an endorsement is required. ODFW describes exceptions, including one for Washington residents and nonresidents with a valid Washington fishing license fishing from a boat north of Cape Falcon, subject to a landing condition. The agency also lists exceptions for certain resident license categories, Free Fishing Weekends and children under 12. Check the full boundaries and conditions on ODFW’s endorsement page before your trip.

Who needs an Oregon fishing license?
ODFW says anglers age 18 and older generally need a fishing license and applicable tags and endorsements. Youth ages 12–17 need a $10 Youth License; children younger than 12 do not need a license to fish or shellfish. Some older anglers, veterans and service members may qualify for benefits, so check current eligibility and terms with ODFW. Details are in the agency’s license purchase guide.
