There is no verified public total for Ao Tanaka’s earnings during his Leeds United stay. Leeds confirmed his four-year contract when he joined in August 2024 but did not disclose his salary or bonuses. The wage figures published by third-party sites are estimates, and they differ—so they cannot establish what he has earned in total.
What Leeds has disclosed about Tanaka’s contract
Leeds United announced on 30 August 2024 that Tanaka had joined permanently from Fortuna Düsseldorf on a four-year deal. The club’s announcement did not state his wages, signing bonus or other compensation. BBC Sport likewise reported a four-year contract and an undisclosed transfer fee; that fee is paid between clubs, not to Tanaka as personal earnings. (BBC Sport.)
The Football Association’s agent-transaction register lists his permanent move to Leeds but does not publish salary terms.
How the available wage estimates compare
Salary websites offer figures, but they are not confirmed by Leeds and are not a consistent record of Tanaka’s pay. The estimates below refer to different periods or scopes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

These figures do not provide a full pay history from the start of Tanaka’s Leeds contract. Nor do they establish bonuses, signing payments, image-rights income or take-home pay after tax. Without verified contract terms and a complete record of compensation, calculating a cumulative Leeds total would be guesswork.

Leeds reported that Tanaka made 45 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions in 2024/25, and named him the club’s Players’ Player of the Year. Those facts describe his first season on the pitch; they do not verify his salary or any performance-related bonus. (Leeds United.)
