Each 2025 Wimbledon gentlemen’s and ladies’ singles champion received £3,000,000 in listed prize money. That is each champion’s individual award—not the tournament’s overall purse, which Wimbledon listed as £53.5 million including estimated per diems.
How much did the 2025 Wimbledon singles champion earn?
The winner of each singles event—the gentlemen’s champion and the ladies’ champion—was awarded £3,000,000 at The Championships, Wimbledon, in 2025. The official schedule set the same amount for both events. It was an 11.1% increase from the £2,700,000 awarded to each singles champion in 2024, a rise of £300,000.
The official awards are stated in pounds sterling. “Million-dollar purse” is a conversational description, not the currency Wimbledon used; no dollar equivalent is given here because an exchange-rate conversion depends on the date and rate chosen.
How the champion’s award compares with other 2025 prizes
| Result or category | 2025 amount | Unit and context |
|---|---|---|
| Singles champion | £3,000,000 | Per champion in each singles event |
| Singles runner-up | £1,520,000 | Per player; 8.6% increase from 2024 |
| Singles first-round exit | £66,000 | Per player; 10.0% increase from 2024 |
| Gentlemen’s or ladies’ doubles champion | £680,000 | Per winning pair |
| Mixed doubles champion | £135,000 | Per winning pair |
The singles champion’s listed award was £1,480,000 more than the runner-up’s. Doubles awards use a different unit: Wimbledon lists the doubles winner amount for the pair, not for each player. The figures and annual changes in this table are from Wimbledon’s 2025 prize-money schedule (Wimbledon prize money).

What Wimbledon’s £53.5 million total includes
The tournament’s headline 2025 total was not one champion’s prize. Wimbledon reported £52 million in awards across all tennis events and estimated £1.5 million in per diems, bringing total prize money including those estimated per diems to £53.5 million. Each of the two singles events had its own total award pool of £19.414 million.
These numbers describe different scopes: £3 million is the award to one singles champion; £19.414 million is the full allocation for one singles event; £52 million covers all tennis-event awards; and £53.5 million is the headline total after estimated per diems are included. The tournament-wide headline total rose 7.0% from 2024, while the singles winner award rose 11.1%.

How the 2025 figure fits the latest Wimbledon schedule
Keep the year attached to the amount: Wimbledon’s official finance page lists a £3,600,000 singles champion award for 2026, compared with £3,000,000 in 2025. The 2026 figure is a later-year award, not a revision to what the 2025 champions received. See the official Wimbledon prize-money information for the year-specific figures.
