Can you use Hallow for free?
Yes. You can download Hallow, create an account, and use a selection of content without paying. Hallow’s free offerings include examples such as the Daily Gospel, Daily Rosary, Daily Mass Readings, Examen, daily meditation, Divine Mercy, Spiritual Writing, and selected prayer challenges and guided content.

The free tier is not the complete Hallow catalog. A subscription is intended to unlock the broader library and premium features, which Hallow currently promotes as including additional guided prayers and series, downloadable sessions for offline listening, prayer customization, and Music Radio. Features and package details can change, so check the current plan description before subscribing.

Individual annual versus monthly pricing
For someone who expects to use Hallow regularly, the annual individual plan is substantially cheaper:

- Annual plan: $69.99
- Annual savings: $49.89 before tax
The annual plan is about 41.6% cheaper than paying monthly for a full year, although the effective cost is approximately $5.83 per month—not exactly $6—and the full $69.99 is charged at once.

Choose monthly if flexibility matters more than the lowest long-term cost or you expect to use Hallow for only a short period. Choose annual if you are confident you will use the premium library for most of the year and can manage the upfront payment.
How the Friends & Family plan works
Hallow’s Friends & Family plan costs $119.99 per year and covers the purchaser plus up to five additional members. Hallow says the paid content and benefits are the same across its paid plans; the main differences are billing frequency and the number of people covered.

Two individual annual subscriptions would cost $139.98, so Friends & Family is already $19.99 cheaper for two committed users. Compared with six individual annual plans, it saves approximately $299.95 before tax.

There are important restrictions: the plan is annual-only, has no free trial, cannot use promotional or discount codes, and must be purchased or upgraded through Hallow’s website. Use Hallow’s family-plan page to buy it, then manage members at Hallow’s family settings page. Hallow’s Friends & Family FAQ has the current eligibility and management details.
Does Hallow offer a free trial?
Hallow says eligible new customers subscribing to an individual plan can receive one free trial. The exact length can depend on the offer presented during signup, so do not assume a fixed number of days from an old advertisement or screenshot.
You generally need to provide a valid payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Hallow says the trial automatically converts to the paid subscription you selected. Its guidance recommends canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid an unwanted charge.

Where can you subscribe?
Purchase availability depends on the plan and platform:
- Individual annual: Hallow’s website and mobile app stores.
- Individual monthly: Hallow’s plan documentation identifies this as website-only, even though Apple and Google listings may display monthly in-app purchase entries.
- Friends & Family: Hallow’s website only.
- Free version: Available through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore.
This creates a platform-availability inconsistency: the Apple listing and Google Play listing show individual monthly and annual price signals, while Hallow’s own plan-change documentation says the monthly and Friends & Family plans are website-only. Check the live purchase screen before paying, particularly if you want the family plan or website-specific billing options.

Cancel through the same place where you started the subscription:
- Website subscription: Use your Hallow account’s subscription-management options or follow Hallow’s current support instructions.
- Apple subscription: Manage it through the Apple account and App Store subscription settings used for the purchase.
- Google Play subscription: Manage it through the Google Play subscriptions area for the Google account used to subscribe.
App-store subscriptions generally renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends. Deleting the Hallow app does not reliably cancel website, Apple, or Google billing.

If you change plans during a billing cycle, the result depends on the original purchase platform. Hallow says changes generally take effect at the next billing date after a charge; an upgrade may involve a prorated difference, while unused annual time may not be refunded when switching to monthly. Check Hallow’s plan-change guidance before confirming.
Which Hallow plan is best?
- Choose free if you mainly want daily prayers, Scripture readings, the Rosary, the Examen, or selected programs—or if you are still deciding whether you will use the app consistently.
- Choose individual annual if you are a regular solo user and want the lowest individual cost. It is the strongest value for sustained use, provided the upfront charge works for your budget.
- Choose individual monthly if you expect short-term use or value month-to-month flexibility enough to pay more over a full year.
- Choose Friends & Family if at least two people will use Hallow for a year. It becomes cheaper than two individual annual subscriptions, but it has no trial and requires website purchase.
Why might you see a different price?
A price that differs from the figures above may reflect regional pricing, sales tax, app-store localization, a temporary promotion, a legacy subscription, a parish or organization-sponsored account, or a different product shown during onboarding.
Hallow has offered promotional, parish, organizational, and special-trial arrangements, but these are eligibility-based or limited offers rather than guaranteed standard prices. Do not assume a parish discount, coupon, or $1 offer is currently available unless its live terms say so. The Friends & Family FAQ specifically says promotional and discount codes cannot be applied to that plan.

Hallow is usable for free, but the free tier is limited compared with Premium. For one regular user, the $69.99 annual plan is usually the best value because twelve months of the $9.99 monthly plan costs $119.88. For two or more committed users, the $119.99 Friends & Family plan can cost less overall—but it is annual-only, website-only, and has no free trial. Confirm tax and the final price on the checkout screen before subscribing.
