Dividing that by the reported average of 408 employees gives an estimated £97,800 per employee per year, or about £1,880 a week. This is a club-wide estimate, not an average first-team player salary.
How the estimated average is calculated
The calculation uses the group wages-and-salaries figure and average headcount reported for the financial year ended 30 June 2025:
£39,899,000 ÷ 408 employees = approximately £97,800 per employee per year.
Dividing the annual estimate by 52 gives roughly £1,880 per week. These are derived averages, not figures published by Norwich City as an official average salary. The latest wage and headcount lines are reported by The Accounts, a third-party service rendering filed company accounts: The Accounts.

What the wage figure includes—and what it does not
The £39.899 million figure is a group-wide wages-and-salaries line. It covers employees across the organisation, rather than only the men’s first team. It should not be described as Norwich City’s player wage bill or used to infer what an individual player earns.
The calculation also divides an annual payroll line by average headcount. It does not show how pay is distributed among employees, and it is not an estimate of take-home pay, contract salary or bonuses. Accounts can also report other employment costs separately; wages and salaries alone are not necessarily the same as total staff costs.

How the estimate compares with 2024
For the year ended 30 June 2024, Norwich City Football Club PLC reported wages and salaries of £44.856 million and average monthly employment of 409 people. Dividing those figures gives an estimated £109,700 per employee for that year. On this like-for-like wages-and-salaries basis, the derived group average fell by about 11% in 2025.

The 2024 report’s staff note makes the group-wide scope clear: it lists 198 people in football, including academy and football support staff; 206 other employees; and five directors. Which accounts are being compared?
The latest accounts located cover the year ended 30 June 2025 and were filed on 11 December 2025. The preceding group accounts cover the year ended 30 June 2024 and were filed on 25 November 2024.
