Uploading a classic 2D Roblox T-shirt, shirt, or pants item costs 80 Robux per submission under Roblox’s fee schedule accessed October 8, 2026. If you also publish it for sale, Roblox adds a separate 10 Robux publishing advance, so the upfront total is 90 Robux per classic item. The advance can be rebated through sales; the upload fee generally is not refunded if moderation rejects the item.
Classic clothing: the upload and sale costs
Roblox distinguishes classic 2D clothing from 3D avatar clothing. Classic clothing includes T-shirts, shirts, and pants that wrap around parts of an avatar. The amounts below come from Roblox Creator Hub’s Marketplace fees and commissions schedule accessed October 8, 2026.

The 80 Robux upload fee applies per submission. The 10 Robux publishing advance is a separate upfront charge for putting the item on sale, and Roblox says it can be returned through rebates from sales. Roblox states that upload fees are generally not refunded when moderation rejects an item.
How 3D clothing and emissive masks change the amount
Do not apply the 90 Robux classic-clothing total to every avatar asset. Roblox’s schedule separates 3D categories from classic clothing and lists a 600 Robux non-limited publishing advance for many 3D clothing types, including jackets, T-shirts, shirts, sweaters, pants, dresses or skirts, shorts, and shoes. Other asset categories have different advances. For emissive items, the publishing advance for a non-limited item is five times the standard advance for that asset type.

The upload fee also differs for assets that use an emissive mask: Roblox lists 500 Robux, compared with the standard 80 Robux upload fee. Check the current fee table for the exact category and treatment before submitting, since Roblox can revise its charges.
Which amount is refundable?
- Upload fee: charged for each submission. Roblox says upload fees are generally not refunded if moderation rejects an item.
- Publishing advance: a separate charge for publishing an eligible item for sale. Roblox says rebates from sales are credited to the creator’s account.
Therefore, 90 Robux is the upfront amount for a classic item submitted and listed for sale, not necessarily the permanent net cost: the 10 Robux advance may be rebated, while the upload fee is generally not returned after rejection.

Account requirements are separate from the Robux fees
Paying the fees alone does not make an account eligible to publish. Roblox’s Marketplace policy, accessed October 8, 2026, lists these requirements:
- To upload, the creator needs government ID verification or a linked parental account with government ID verification.
- To publish, the creator also needs 2-step verification and Roblox Plus or Premium 1000/2200 membership. For group publishing, the group owner must meet the membership requirement.
- The individual creator or group owner must maintain a qualifying membership for items to remain on sale.
The policy’s cited requirements do not specify a cash subscription price, so there is no supported dollar amount to add to the Robux total here.

Approval, content rights, and upload problems
A paid submission is not a guarantee that an item will appear in the Marketplace. Roblox reviews uploaded assets for approval, and creators must follow the Marketplace policy and Community Standards and have permission to upload and sell the content. Roblox Support’s Creating and Selling Avatar Items explains the broader creation and selling process.
If a clothing image will not upload, Roblox’s clothing upload troubleshooting page says images must be GIF, PNG, or JPG and that the correct template and image dimensions matter. That support page confirms that Marketplace fees apply but does not state the current fee amounts; use the Creator Hub fee table for those figures.
