For U.S. submissions, PSA’s listed grading fee starts at $59.99 per card for Standard. Add the separate domestic return charge: for one to four items insured up to $2,000, PSA lists $19.99. That makes $79.98 a starting estimate for one Standard card, before the cost of shipping it to PSA, packing supplies, taxes, or other applicable charges. It is not an all-in quote. PSA’s Value and Value Bulk services are currently marked unavailable, so their advertised rates are not a usable current estimate.

PSA’s listed per-card fee depends on the service selected, which is tied to the card’s maximum insured value and estimated turnaround. PSA’s published business-day estimates are not guarantees and do not represent door-to-door delivery time.

How Premium 10 pricing works
PSA lists Premium 10 at $9,999 for maximum insured values of $350,000 or less, then adds $399 for every $10,000 or fraction above $350,000. PSA’s pricing page gives $13,191 as the fee for a $425,000 maximum insured value. Check the current terms and fee page for a high-value card before submitting.
What return shipping adds
PSA charges a separate domestic return shipping and insurance fee for card and dual-service orders. The amount depends on the number of items and the maximum insured value for the shipment. PSA’s chart, checked October 8, 2026, lists these examples:

A one-card Standard estimate
For a single Standard card, the published grading fee is $59.99. If its return shipment falls in the one-to-four-item, up-to-$2,000 bracket, the listed return charge is $19.99. Together, those two line items equal $79.98. This calculation combines PSA’s separate fee and postage tables; it excludes inbound postage and insurance, packing materials, taxes, customs, and other applicable disclosed charges.

What can change the final bill
PSA says the maximum insured value is the submitter’s estimate of the card’s value after grading. It affects the service level and price, and it sets the maximum value used for a claim and shipping insurance. PSA does not appraise cards. Its terms say it may require a higher service-level fee if it determines a card was undervalued; if the submitter does not pay the adjusted amount, PSA may return the item unprocessed at the submitter’s cost.
PSA advises estimating realistically using sources such as its Photograde resource, price guides, auction results, trade publications, or dealer input. Do not choose a tier solely because its fee is lower if the card’s estimated post-grading value exceeds that tier’s limit.

The grading fee is not necessarily the final charge. PSA’s terms allow for per-item service fees, shipping, inbound insurance, taxes, customs, disclosed processing fees, and other applicable disclosed fees. PSA says it charges after the submission is complete and ready to ship back.
Is a PSA membership worth the cost?
Membership is optional. PSA’s FAQ states: “You are not required to join the Collectors Club in order to submit your items.” PSA’s membership page listed Standard at $149 per year and Premium at $199 per year when checked October 8, 2026; both include a PSA Magazine subscription, and Premium includes Card Ladder Pro.

PSA’s page also described bulk pricing starting at $24.99 per card and member-exclusive grading specials, but marked bulk access and those specials temporarily paused. Do not count those advertised benefits as available savings unless PSA has restored them. PSA says multiple-card submitters may consider membership for eligible member pricing or specials; whether it pays off depends on the live offers, submission size, and timing.

PSA’s business-day estimates begin after an order is received and entered or scanned into its system, not when the package is first mailed. PSA says timing can shift with submission volume, capacity, and other circumstances. Allow additional time for shipping in both directions, and do not treat the estimate as a guaranteed completion date.
Prepare and mail the card correctly
Use PSA’s current submission and shipping instructions before packing. PSA places responsibility for loss, delay, and insurance during inbound transit on the customer until PSA unpacks and identifies the items. Its terms identify nonconforming packaging—such as incorrect rigid top-loader sleeves, extra pull tabs or stickers, or cards sent in an order different from the submission form—as examples that may incur processing fees.
PSA’s store listed an optional Official PSA Card Grading Submission Kit for $19.99 when checked October 8, 2026. It includes a mailer, 20 easy-grip sleeves, 20 semi-rigid holders, a microfiber cloth, shipping materials, and four PSA card protectors. Buying the kit is not required; follow PSA’s packaging rules regardless of which supplies you use.

When you pay PSA’s shipping fee, PSA says it uses its own insurance and requires signature confirmation; the carrier may vary. If you ship using your own carrier account, PSA says you must insure the package yourself because PSA’s insurance applies only to shipments made on PSA’s accounts.
