That is an estimate of possible move size—not a prediction that PEP shares will rise or fall.
What the 3.75% expected move means
An options-implied move is a market-based estimate of how much a stock might move around an event, as reflected in options prices. Options Band explains its own estimate using the at-the-money straddle and describes the result as “a market-implied estimate, not a forecast.” Its page says its values are recorded at the close before a report. TipRanks did not specify the contracts, observation time, or calculation behind its 3.75% figure, so its number should not be assumed to use exactly the same method.
In practical terms, 3.75% is about the size of a move traders were pricing in—not a guaranteed trading range, a probability that the stock will move that far, or a directional signal. The figure is a snapshot of options pricing and could change before the event.
How it compares with PepsiCo’s recent earnings moves
TipRanks reported that PEP’s absolute share-price moves after its previous four earnings reports averaged 3.68%, ranging from 2.28% to 4.93%. The 3.75% options-implied estimate is close to that short-sample average, but the historical comparison is context, not a prediction of the next reaction.

What traders and analysts were watching before the report
TipRanks’ pre-event coverage highlighted North America business weakness and macroeconomic pressures, alongside expectations for revenue and earnings. It relayed analyst estimates of $24.97 billion in revenue, up 4.3% year over year, and $2.30 in earnings per share, up 0.4%. Those figures were estimates reported by TipRanks, not official PepsiCo guidance.
The coverage also pointed to management’s comments on guidance, progress in its turnaround, and margins as areas investors might watch. These were potential topics of interest before the report; they do not establish what caused any subsequent share-price move.

Was PepsiCo’s Q3 FY26 report already out?
No—not in the pre-event framing as of October 7, 2026. TipRanks listed October 8, 2026, as the scheduled report date. PepsiCo’s official quarterly reports page showed Q1 and Q2 2026 earnings materials, but no Q3 results when checked on October 7. Options Band also listed October 8 as the report date and $2.30 EPS estimate; that estimate, like TipRanks’ figure, is not company guidance.
