Plymouth Argyle’s accounts imply an average wages-and-salaries cost of about £368,000 a week in 2024/25. That estimate comes from dividing the annual total of £19,123,343 by 52; it is not a published figure for a typical current week or for the men’s first team alone.
How the weekly estimate is calculated
Companies House lists Plymouth Argyle Football Club Limited’s latest accounts as covering the year ended 30 June 2025, filed on 23 December 2025. The accounts report £19,123,343 in wages and salaries for that year. Dividing that annual figure by 52 gives approximately £367,756, which rounds to about £368,000 a week. Companies House filing history confirms the filing period and date; the reported line-item figures are reproduced in an accounts summary.
This is an annual accounting total expressed as a weekly average. It smooths the year into 52 equal parts and does not show the club’s payroll in any particular week.
Wages and salaries versus total staff costs
“Wages” can refer either to the narrower wages-and-salaries line or to the broader total staff-costs figure. They are different measures and should not be treated as interchangeable.

| Measure | 2024/25 annual total | Average per week (annual total ÷ 52) |
|---|---|---|
| Wages and salaries | £19,123,343 | Approximately £367,756 (about £368,000) |
| Total staff costs | £21,245,145 | Approximately £408,560 (about £409,000) |
The accounts summary reports both amounts for the year ended 30 June 2025. Use wages and salaries for the clearest answer to a question about wages; use total staff costs when discussing the wider staff-cost measure.

- They are company-account figures for the stated financial year, not a live weekly payroll rate.
- The wages-and-salaries total does not establish how much was paid to the men’s first team, nor does it reveal an average salary for an individual player.
- Wages and salaries were £15,220,167 in 2023/24. The 2024/25 total was about 25.6% higher, but that year-on-year change does not establish what the club spends in a current week. The accounts summary identifies these amounts with the club’s filed accounts.
The club’s report described 2024/25 as “a disappointing year on the pitch” after the men’s first team were relegated from the Championship following two seasons there; that sporting context does not change the scope of the company-wide wages figure. Accounts summary.
